When I try and compile any code in VS 6.0 it doesn't work. When I build the exe, linking just doesn't happen.

Linking...is all I get, I've let it sit for hours. What's going on?
Using WinXP SP2
try starting a new console Hello World project and see if it links ok. It that's ok then add the files in the project that gives you the problem.
