If I make a program, how do go about, well, actually publishing it? In the sense that I can make it in to an icon on my desktop and open it etc....
Any ideas?

To add an application icon:
Doubleclick the properties map in the solution window.
In the window that opens, under the application tab, you can browse to add your icon.
