I downloaded Python 3.2.3 from the python.org web site. However, when I click to launch the python command line the initial message from windows is as follows: "Please waite while windows configures python 3.2.3.

Using this link

Python 3.2.3 Windows x86 MSI Installer (Windows binary -- does not include source)

Before the configuration process completes an error message is displayed, "This application has failed to start because python32.dll was not found. re-installing the application may fx the problem."

However, on trying to re-install the same cycle of problems re-occur.

My operating system is Windows Vista.

Please help if you can.

Oh my goodness, somebody still using Windows Vista. There could be a problem with access as an administrator when the dll wants to install in Windows/System32

You could also try Portable Python from:
http://www.portablepython.com/wiki/PortablePython3.2.1.1
That one you can either use from your hard drive or a flash drive. Does not bother Windows reg or system.
