Hi everyone!

I want to develop an Automatic Number Plate Recognition program in visual basic 2010 using windows forms. I need the program to pull the characters from a captured image and translate it into text that can be displayed in a text box. I know i am asking alot and it is a mammoth task. Big thanks to anyone who can help as this is a big project for me. This program is going to be trailled by a local council so i need help as soon as possible :)

You'll need to use something like OCR. I've never messed with it myself, but I can see from a quick google search that there are libraries available for .Net.
