May i know the difference between creating database using Visual Data Manager and using MS Access. which is better?

VB6 uses MsAccess 98 version. So, if your Access database version is above than 98, vb6 visual Data Maneger couldn't able to open it.

From my point of view, using MsAccess is better way to design the database. You could not modify the data type of a field by VDM. MsAccess is more flexible than VDM.

i thought Visual Data manager uses 98-2003 file format.
but now i know, that's why even though they have same file format (.mdb).. i can't open MSAccess in data manager.

another thing is there's no auto number field on visual data manager.
