how to know system supported sleep states using c#

Hi

i am developing an application in C# which is going to put the system in sleep states like s1,s2,s3,s4 depending on the specification.

i need to get what are the sleep states supported by currently running system

and also

how to know whether the system went into the sleep state are not through program.

if any one has the solution ,post it ASAP.
