i have installed iis on my desktop which is having windows xp....

however i am unable to run any .asp pages from "C:\Inetpub\wwwroot"

even simple "http://localhost/" or any other .asp page shows "Server Application Error
The server has encountered an error while loading an application during the processing of your request. Please refer to the event log for more detail information. Please contact the server administrator for assistance."


can anyone help me please.....

As per the message displayed, you can check in the Event log for the exact error message.

The server failed to load application '/LM/W3SVC/1/ROOT'. The error was 'Class not registered


this is what it shows....can u please help me with this one???

I assume you diabled Distributed Transaction Coordinator Service which you can check in the Services console in the adminitrative tools.

Try running Distributed Transaction Coordinator, uninstall/install IIS, and access to your asp page.

ok i did as you said.....enabled Distributed Transaction Coordinator Service....but it says that "windows couldn't start Distributed Transaction Coordinator review the sys log event"
and the log says "The Distributed Transaction Coordinator service terminated with service-specific error 3221229627 (0xC000103B)."
