jQuery/Javascript background image fade?

Hi all,
I wondered if this was possible. i have a div, which I would like some images to rotate as the background-image so it is a slideshow. In additional, I want a fade in/out effect between the image transition.

Basicly, what I'm asking is, how do I do it?

Yes you can do that kind of slideshow, gallery presentation with JQuery. You can also develop in flash. Please follow the link for 25 tutorials for image presentations in JQuery.

This is very similar to what I was wanting to achieve for a college project.
I have made a start but it doesn't support unlimited images, but it can be modified to your needs.
Example:

Try it out, and tell if this is what you need? I will send you the source code if need be.

I have a portfolio on my homepage (www.pritaeas.net). You can download the linked js file from there. It uses jquery, two images and a list of files. If it is not clear, I can post it here with some additional comments. I did not make time yet to put it with the other examples on my site.
