getting entries from field dynamically as one types characters

HI GUYS
i want to get the entries in afield as you type
for example in Gmail when u type alphabet 'a' in the send to field ,you get the contacts starting with 'a'and second alphabet 'b' you get contacts starting with ab and so on
i would like to use asp.net/sql server 2005 database
How to do so
Plz help me out

in further work to my question
can i get autocomplete feature for a field in database like sqlserver 2005,2008
i wold like to use a textbox for search string and a dropdown list for user to select the field.
Based on the field user selected autocomplete feature should work for the field
Is that possible,if so how???
