You need to apply the full path including the filename. If you have an index.html/htm/php file in the directory - that will be displayed if there's no filename in the path.

the filename is images

full path : http://www.example/images/x.jpg
I want to see the content of all images in images file but instead I get a white blank empty page

sorry your answer does not give anything to me.
You did not answer the question "why????"

It's either a web server setting or you have a blank index file in the directory. If there is no index file in the directory then it is the web server configuration and it has been configured to not show the files in the directory.

No worries, this is the second thread where I have misunderstood your question. Better all round if I leave it to others. Good luck (to both sides).
