for the book you may like "apress - beginning asp net 3 5 in c# 2008 from novice to professional, second edition", that's the book i'm using now. Just like you i'm also new to ASP.net. And for the online tutorial you can search it through google. There are plenty of tutorials online, but it's only you who can decide the best one. =)
