Hello. I'm using Unity3d to create a simple turret simulation and I have run in to a problem. I need to find the angle to an object from the turret in 3d space. Up to this point I thought I could just take the (arc)trig values retrieved from certain perspectives (ie. looking towards the turret from X+ or Y+). Unity uses the left-hand coordinate system, with Y+ being upward and Z+ forward. However in many tests the turret does not aim directly at the object. So I'm maing a 3D game editor in Java using LWJGL (Lightweight Java Game Library), I have the editor set up so that the user can create new levels, load up saved levels, save and quick save current levels, import textured models etc.. the basics. ok so, I'm using unity5 and I have got my terrain and spooky forest. the lighting is ok its just that if I drag the FOG script to the first-person prefab and press play it doesn't work. it does distance fog not real-time moving fog in front of the camera. I also add the 50mm sun flare prefab into the first preson prefab and press play, I cant see them. neither can I activate distance blur because if I do it locks the camera movement to only side-to-side, I cant look up ur anything. plz help

I've made a rectangle with another 3D point inside. The rectangle is textured with an image. Now, I need to move the point that is inside the rectangle to another 3D position. How do the numbers in a matrix relate to coordinates in 3D space. I've looked at a ton of tutorials for an answer but I still haven't come to an answer. They explain mainly the math which I try to use to answer my question, but I can't come to a conclusion I'm sure of. If I needed to apply a transformation matrix to the vertices of a model, I'd be held completely at how the matrix values correspond to x, y, and z locations.

Alright, so I am thinking about an idea of a useless application, however it is interesting me. A 3D "perspective" of color. I know, confusing. But think of it this way: Movement given an x, y, z coordinate. Color given r, b, g = x, y, z I was also thinking of somewhat of a "map" or a 3rd person view of it. Using JOpenGL is this possible? I'm creating a morphing module for a certain software and I'm trying to do something that I'm wrestling for quite long. I've created a mesh divided in 9 parts. So I have a rectangle divided in 9 "sub-rectangles" and I've set a texture for the global rectangle. Very recently, I let my laptop (HP) battery get too low, and it died on me. Usually, upon plugging in the adaptor, everything starts right back up again. However, this time, the laptop runs, but all I can see is a black screen. I can even hear the little chime when windows starts (vista), but all I can see is black. I'm wondering if anybody has extensive knowledge about graphics cards. I basically need to find a laptop that can support all these softwares: AutoCAD 3D Max Maya Mud Box Adobe After Effects Adobe Photoshop From my research I've been running into the NVIDIA Quadro 1000M but there are only a handful of laptops that come with that and they're really expensive. I'm wondering if any of the NVIDIA GTX cards would support those softwares above properly. On Autodesk.com all they recommend are Quadro cards which seemed odd. Hello! I'm searching for a UML tool that can comprehensively 3D visualize a big (class) diagram. Something like a crossover between Google Sketchup and a proper modelling tool - or a tool which uses an XMI export as a base for its 3D visualization. Ideally it would also provide an interactive presentation mode (add layers, 'zoom' into entities to view details, etc) and a video export. Hiya! I have a function that creates 3D meshes procedurally from the given parameters. It creates a four-sided box, which is (for example) 1.0 wide, 1.0 high and 100.0 long. The box is then subdivided into multiple parts, so if the aforementioned box is subdivided to three parts, it will have vertices at 0f, 33.3f, 66.7f and 100.0f on the longest sides. Now, I have the vertex generation code up and running, but I have a problem generating the triangle lists from the vertices. Hi all, I have a simple OpenGL program (learnt from NeHe of course) and I've tried to implement GLSL shaders into my program. Currently, its meant to draw a cube with a shader and quit on escape. However, at the line **`GLenum program = glCreateProgramObjectARB();`** it stops responding and closes. Would this be something to do with mismatching OpenGL versions? I'm using GLEW and GLEXT libraries in this for shader support. Thanks, **--Mark**
