Hi daniweb, I'm finding a way to create a 'plug and play' printing apps that can send the document softcopy to a bluetooth tethered device on the fly. I'm seeking advice on which programming language should i get into with to develop the apps. For advancement, I would like to make the device to connect via NFC instead of bluetooth. Thanks and regards.

I was wondering if anyone can assist me with a problem that I have with C Bluetooth programming (Linux Bluez). I am using Ubuntu 10.04, BlueZ 4.60. My goal is to have a L2CAP socket in which there will be minimal delay for sending data between 2 computers. So far I managed to open an L2CAP socket, but this socket has endless retransmissions and I'm trying to change it. I want to have no retransmissions at all because I need the data to be transfer fast with minimal delay and the reliability of the data is not important. I found …

I have to work on a final project for school, and i have decided to work on an Android application. I'd like to set up an RC car with a micro controller, and a bluetooth receiver. I am wondering if this will be too much to handle. I would need to write the code myself, so i was wondering if anyone has ever worked with bluetooth and Android? How hard would it be supposing the car is set up to receive, to make the car move forward backwards, left and right? Any source code to to look at out there? …

Specs The two print cartridges use a dye based ink where the black cartridge’s resolution is up to 600 x 600 dpi whereas the color cartridge renders 4800 x 1200 dpi. The printer is capable of borderless printing, up to 4 x 6 inches. There are three ways to connect to this printer: USB 2.0 connection, Pictbridge connection and Bluetooth. The duty cycle lasts about 500 pages before you’ll have to replace the ink. Using HP’s standard printer language (HP PCL3 GUI), this printer is capable of 8 built-in fonts and typefaces, which are scalable. The media types that …

Hi All I'm wondering if there is a way to know, using a C# program, among my COM ports which are connected to BlueTooth devices? For example, let us assume that of my ports 1 through 9, the COM ports 7 and 8 are connected to some type of BlueTooth device. So I want my C# program to scan all my COM ports, and indicate to me that ports 7 and 8 are connected to BlueTooth devices. How can I achieve this goal? Specially code samples would be highly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

While most consumers hail one- or multiple-touch technology as an improvement over keyboard typing or using a mouse, for musicians who need both hands to play their instruments, removing a hand to momentarily touch the screen for page turns is distracting at best and disruptive to the music at worst. And while the iPad is a great tool for reading digital sheet music, its functionality is hampered by the need to touch or swipe the screen to turn pages. The Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) has completed work on the new Bluetooth 4.0 specification and is officially ready to begin qualifying new devices for use with the technology. The most notable improvement is the support for devices with low-power consumption. This means Bluetooth can now be implemented in a wide range of devices and scenarios that have yet to be tapped until now. The new low-power mode can operate from a coin-cell battery with little effect on the life of the charge. Devices that still rely on the traditional Bluetooth technology can take advantage of this mode by scaling …

I have visited this forum many times in the past and I decided to actually join. My first question - where is the encryption algorithm actually implemented in bluethooth? more specifically bluez. I have been sifting through the bluez code trying to find this, and so far I have only found where it is flagged to be enabled. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello, I'm working on a bluetooth chat application project called 'BlueChat'. I coded the server (BServer.java) and client (BClient.java) parts (2 separate threads). The visual part is called BlueChat.java and allowes the user to select to be the server or the client. I wrote a lot of System.out.println("")'s to check WHY NO MESSAGE IS SEND (there are no errors or exceptions). So I detect that: - On the server, when it reaches
con = notifier.acceptAndOpen();
part, loopes infinitely as it doesn't receive any join from a 'Client' - On the client when it passes the 'inquiry' but it's waiting infinitely …

After sending some data between them (let us say 3 devices) I get this exception: javax.bluetooth.BluetoothStateException: too mach concurent requests at com.sun.kvem.jsr082.bluetooth.ServiceSearcher.start(ServiceSearcher.java:67) at com.sun.kvem.jsr082.bluetooth.DiscoveryAgentImpl.searchServices(DiscoveryAgentImpl.java:226) at javax.bluetooth.DiscoveryAgent.searchServices(DiscoveryAgent.java:259) at BSearch.deviceDiscovered(BSearch.java:78) at com.sun.kvem.jsr082.impl.bluetooth.BTDeviceDiscoverer.run(+268) requests. Hello all, I recently started using Python to test a Bluetooth Push application prototype and everything was working great until threading. I wonder if someone knows how to start multiple threads of connectpush() with Obexftp running under Linux? So far with the code below I have to wait until the first client connection gets close to start the next connection and I need to start many push connections at once. The strange part is that the threads are working for obexftp.browsebt() method so I get push channels in every thread or maybe it's because we don't need to accept or …

The Bluetooth Special Interest Group has confirmed that Bluetooth 3.0 will be released on April 21st. The Bluetooth 3.0 specs are expected to allow users to see much faster speeds when used in conjunction with 802.11n Wi-Fi while we await the arrival proper ultra-wideband technology. Still, the faster link speeds will be most welcome, especially when large data transfers are required. Of course, this being Bluetooth, the user will not have to worry about actually connecting to a 802.11n Wi-Fi network, that will all be handled invisibly by the Bluetooth devices themselves through the clever use of what I am …

So Dani (of Daniweb fame) was asking me to go through a few gadgets for the Christmas season. So of course I've left it until the last minute - with prices going the way they are at the moment (we're into closing-down sales and stuff over this side of the Pond) you'd be crazy not to. The first thing I'd recommend is to get someone with a Bluetooth music phone an Io Play.
