Hey there, Why does the function compact not work for me? it is a function according to the javascript documentation. The problem is, however; if I add the brackets after it, the browser complains for some reason and it says compact is NOT a function. Also, with the function parseInt, it doesn't take brackets after it. Isn't it a function? I thought functions should always have brackets inserted after thier names like java and php. var drinks = ["pepsi", "coke", "juice", null]; println(drinks.compact); Thanks.

Access 2010 Compact & Repair drops indexes in descending order. The database is ~700MB and the table affected has 190 columns, 228,000 records and 13 indexes and runs on Windows 7 with 4GB of memory. The same file compacts without incident using Office 2007 on a Window XP machine with 2GB of memory. Strangely it runs OK on a VM running Office 2010 and on my home desktop running Office 2010 on Windows 8. Can anyone tell me why this is happening after a year of daily compacting? The file grows by about 500KB a day. I am seriously considering …

Good day to you all, am currently working on a windows application. I used sql compact edition for the database. But the first problem i got was that it kept giving me errors i copied and pasted to error code on google and I got an article that says I should change the cpu type from "Any CPU" to x86. That solved the error thingy. But each time I added things to the DB, closing and re-opening the app, or probably editing the DB schema always result to lost of all records. If I add a new record, I will …

Hi! This is my submission for code snippet contest. I also posted this code to help other members on how they can use compact & repair their MS Access Database within Visual Basic 6.0. You also need to add Microsoft Jet and Replication 2.6 in your project reference. To use, add the snippet in Module; Once you have added it to the module just call CompactAccess with database location and its password like this; Call CompactAccess("C:\Database.mdb", "12345") I also attached a sample project on how you can use it, just check it out. [Click Here](http://www.daniweb.com/images/attachments/1/Compacting_Database.zip) Please note that the database …

Hi all, first post here, please excuse the newbieness!! I am a complete and total beginner to web development in all forms other than mediocre HTML and CSS. Please be gentle and use small words!! :-) I have recently installed Microsoft's Visual Web Developer 2010 Express in order to have a go at learning how a small website might make use of VB.NET and SQL Server Compact. What I'd like to do is have one single table in SQL where I'm going to store data. On the main webpage I'd like two or three form fields which I can type …
