iPhone and more can automatically recognize phone numbers and make them an active link to click and initiate a call to that number. I can do this on many webpages, but not in myTinyTodo task list. Anyone know what might be preventing the phones from being able to recognize the number and make it active? You can input a task on this page with…

To hopefully help someone else looking for this situation with an iPhone not displaying phone numbers as active links: The problem for us was the iPhone would not automatically convert phone numbers to active links for clicking to initiate a phone call when the phone number displayed was AJAX generated content. So, we implemented jquery to find …

The latest wrinkle in the lost iPhone story - in which someone left the prototype for the iPhone 4 in a bar and website Gizmondo got hold of it - has taken two unexpected turns. First, the police got involved. They have raided the editor's personal property and taken his computers in. This, they say…

iPhone apps are usually written in Objective- C. You can use C++ in your objective -C programs but many of the common feature (constructors) are not allowed. Overall it makes way more sense to develop in Objective- C for the iPhone/ iPad platform Also iPhone does not support openGL. It supports openGL ES where ES obviously stands for Embedded …

Hi there, I'm currently making an iPhone optimized website using the WPtouch plugin for Wordpress. The issue I'm facing though is that on this page ( - only visible on iPhone or mobile device) I have an image that is the full width of the page when the phone is held vertically. When you flip the phone horizontally however, the photo …

I, yes I, just got an iPhone and I'm very happy with it. I migrated to AT&T / iPhone just yesterday from Verizon Wireless and a Treo 700W (Windows Mobile smartphone). I am a little pissed that I can't synch my contacts or email because the iPhone isn't compatible with any 64-bit Windows OS. Therefore, I'm forced to synch it via my mac instead …
The first generation iPod was NOT compatible with anything except Macs. Only at that point did sales really …

I give huge kudos to Apple for ensuring the iPhone synchronizes not only with OS X Mail and OS X Address Book but also with Microsoft Outlook for Windows. 64 bit computing isn't all it's cracked up to be. I wonder if by the time Apple writes the 64 bit drivers for Leopard, they'll have released drivers for Windows Vista 64 bit... (Shouldn't it be easy porting the drivers because they're both endian-based? I would think the only thing required to port would be the actual communication with the kernel…

What I like about the iPhone is the interface is much more like a full featured phone and iPod and much less like a PDA with a phone feature, as Windows Mobile is. I think the iPhone makes a good primary phone.
