This may not be the best room to post this in but I didn't see any room that really jumped out at me for this, and since I'm doing all this on Linux desktop it made sense. I'm having trouble placing the meta data (artists, album, title) for a .wav song that I have. Through using three different programs I'm gettin different results. I can open the file in Rythmbox and select properties for the song and I can see the text fields for all the formentioned meta data above, thie fields all say 'Unknown' and the text fields aren't …

I'm trying to extract some metadata from a m4v file. I'm looking for the duration, height, width, etc. I do all my programming on a Raspberry Pi and was looking at gexiv2 but could not get it going. I got exiftool working though. My script looks like this: import exiftool files = '/mnt/media/tv/Robotech/Season 1/Robotech - S01E01 - Boobytrap.m4v' infile = open(files, 'r') with exiftool.ExifTool() as et: metadata = et.get_metadata(files) print metadata What I'm getting back is this: {u'File:FilePermissions': 777, u'File:FileType': u'MP4', u'File:FileSize': 445367645, u'QuickTime:MajorBrand': u'mp42', u'SourceFile': u'/mnt/media/tv/Robotech/Season 1/Robotech - S01E01 - Boobytrap.m4v', u'QuickTime:CompatibleBrands': [u'mp42', u'isom', u'avc1'], u'File:FileInodeChangeDate': u'2013:03:04 20:28:38+00:00', u'File:MIMEType': …
Var DocP : DSOFile.OleDocumentProperties; Begin //Collect Information Using DSOFile DocP := New DSOFile.OleDocumentProperties(Input.Text); DocP.Open((Input.Text).Trim, True, DSOFile.dsoFileOpenOptions.dsoOptionOpenReadOnlyIfNoWriteAccess); //Get Author FileAuthor.Text := DocP.SummaryProperties.Author; End;
Hi, Does anyone know a simple way of extracting file information such as that shown in the details tab of file properties? I am new to Delphi and I don't have much experience, codes on the internet which I have found are not very helpful and only successfully extract file version info. I'm really confused and could do with some helpful pointers. Many thanks,

Sure, looking for news stories with a search engine can tell you about the past, but a new application might act more like a very comprehensive crystal ball. A search engine prototype created by Yahoo's Barcelona lab lets users look into the future -- sort of.The application was revealed this week as part of the Human-Computer Interaction and Information Retrieval challenge, which uses more than 1.8 million New York Times articles from 1987 to 2007 as its data set. The application is also part of the European project LivingKnowledge. The Yahoo researchers call their creation "Time Explorer" and describe it …

I am using Visual C++ 2010 and created a CLR EXE debug project and wrote a function, which I am able to call from main in my program. If I take the exact same code and put it in a dll, then I get a compile error from the line m_thread=boost::shared_ptr<boost::thread>( new boost::thread( boost::bind( &MyClass::Work, this ) ) ); The error message is error LNK2022: metadata operation failed (8013119F) : A TypeRef exists which should, but does not, have a corresponding TypeDef: (dummy): (0x01000022). I have no idea what the problem is since this works perfectly in the EXE project …

On another forum. This guy warns me to not bump a thread. http://www.dropshots.com/spectateswamp#date/2010-01-14/06:06:14 Then he makes his post disappear. Then I get banned. A couple other of my fav threads had him as the final respondant. Does he bully others there. Good thing I do screen captures of my posts otherwise there would be no proof. I think he is employed by MS so he was probably put up to it.. anyway I'm looking for a simple upload program that will take 2 lines of info and update mp3 metadata. Line 1 will have all the "genre=" "artist=" "year=" "track=" …
