Hi guys, I'm almost finished my assignment. It's purpose is to translate english words to pirate language. For example, when some enters "hello", "ahoy" is returned. But when I enter two words like "pardon me", "null" is returned even though I have assigned "avast" to it. I'm thinking this is because I have included Console.readToken() instead of readString(). But token in my opinion works better. So I'm not sure what I can do for more than one word like "pardon me" or "excuse me". Can anyone help? Here is the code:
import java.util.*; public class PirateTranslator { public static void …

I ask because according to the latest data, there would seem to be an increasing number of working pirates around these days. The trouble is that they can be hard to spot as they do not tend to go for the Captain Jack look nor sport a long beard, come missing a leg or complete with a parrot. However, according to web security specialist ScanSafe, there has been a 55% increase in employees attempting to download illegal software and MP3s in the workplace over the last three months, so they are obviously out there and quite possibly in your office. …

I wasn't surprised to read that the Apple iTunes store had been hacked. It was just a matter of time. I was even less surprised to see that the applications were a prime target for the hackers and pirates. I can see that peer to peer networks and illegal downloads will be appealing to some iPhone users (and iPod Touch users) just like any other. What did surprise me was to see in Wired Magazine that some of the developers not only tolerate it (we'll come on to why not in a second) but think it's 'cool'. That's an actual …

Oh the irony. Windows Vista Service Pack 1 is, quite rightly, being pushed hard on the merits of the numerous security improvements over the original release. However, despite the fact that Vista SP1 will not be made available to end users until March, because it has just been released to manufacturing I guess it should come as no surprise that it has also already hit the pirate download sites. Indeed, BitTorrent tracker sites report hundreds of seeders and hundreds more lechers within 24 hours of that RTM release. It would appear that what is circulating here, as a 2.9GB file, …

What started off as a show of political defiance, with thousands of file-sharing downloader’s joining forces and planning to field 140 candidates in the September Swedish elections, has spread to the US. The trigger in Sweden was the May 31st police raid on a community of a million BitTorrent users called The Pirate Bay. The Piratpartiet (pirate Party), which actually formed in January, was quick to organize protests amongst the Xbox Generation. Indeed, some 1000 did just that in Gothenburg and Stockholm on June 3rd, and the resulting publicity in Sweden has seen Pirate Party membership swell to in excess …
