I have 2 laptops A and B, both running windows 7. I can access A from B, but can't access B from A. Strange thing is, if I go through network, I cant even access A from A. This is the error message that I get. A (or B) is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contract the administrator.... The specified network provider name is invalid. Also attached a screenshot.

My computer keeps zoning out. Losing Wifi connection and when I "fix" the wifi adapter soon after it notifies me that the "wifi does not have a valid IP configuration" and then, it re-connects itself and it's fine for a while..then zones out again. I would appreciate it if someone could walk me through the steps on how to fix this; I'm sure it isn't complicated to some but it's latin to me and driving me wired right now.

Hello, I have a PC at the office, which was by default a Windows 8 Pro OEM licensed one (not 8.1), but for some unknown reasons, it was downgraded to Windows 7 Pro, which is again showing "OEM" in the activation Product ID. I would like to format and perform a clean install of Windows 10 Pro (v. 1803) on the PC, and use the existing Windows 8 Pro OEM key to activate it after install. I would like to get a second opinion before doing so, knowing that the PC did not receive any of the Windows 10 free …

However there are also many other options like, boot log, safe video, safe boot (with minimal, alternate shell etc.. options) vista. What do they mean and what is the difference between them? is it recommended to use one over the other? which one should i use cause i dont really understand the difference between them at all... Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you ...

I worked this issue for over 10 hours yesterday and got nowhere. Maybe the braintrust here has some ideas. I have an Asus essentio desktop, with Win 7 Ultimate SP1 installed. Yesterday AM I discovered that it was completely hung,so I turned it off and turned it on. First, I got a black screen, so I turned off and turned on again. This time it booted, but hung on the startup screen. Off, and on, and it went to the F8 screen. Start Windows normally, and it hung on the pasword screen. Off and on, F8 screen, safe mode selected, …

I have a client who can not download her attachments throught the windows mail app. Their mail server is gmail and they do not have a windows account. If they go into the desktop and go to their gmail they can download the attachments with no problem. Is the issue the fact that they do not have a windows account therefore the apps do not work fully? I have no problem with downloading attachments and I have a windows account.

My Windows Vista computer was freezing up a lot, so I wanted to perform a system restore. In a tutorial, it said that it would be best to do this in safe mode (which, it said, could be attained by hitting F8). Well, I tried, and F8 didn't do anything; so, I used F12 while starting the system to go to the boot manager. Unable to find anything of use (as far as gettings into safe mode) there, I chose some option in the boot manager that sent me to the Setup window. In this window, I didn't change anything …

I still can work on my laptop (HP Pavilion) because I had a window open and I can access all my docs this way, but the background screen is black, there is no 'Start' button, no desktop and the 'right click' does nothing. Totally emptiness, but I still see the pointer on the black screen. If this open window is closed, I won't be able to open anything or work on the computer. Anyone there with a solution?

I have Vista Premium on an ACER T180 machine. I recently noticed the exclamation point next to the WPD FileSystem Volume Driver under Device Manager. When I double click on it, the error code is: This device cannot start. (Code 10) Click 'Check for solutions' to send data about this device to Microsoft and to see if there is a solution available. I have uninstalled the device several times. I followed the directions for modifiying the registry in KB314060 (even though this isn't for a CD/DVD problem.) The device in question is the card reader that came installed in the …

After recently reciving a used Gateway GT5622 from my grandfather, opened it to see what ram and GPU it was running. About 3 weeks after this, i decided to boot it up and possibly use it for bitcoin mining. I attached the cables for the power supply, keyboard, mouse, monitor, and ethernet. When I attempted to power it on, the power light flashed randomly, one of the fans was in sync with the light, going of at the same time the light did. I then got 3 beeps, and about 2 minutes later, it completely stopped and shut itself down. …

Ok folks, I rarely log in to ask questions so forgive me if I'm in the wrong category. Ok, the pc is a laptop (HP Elitebook 8460p, i5-2520m CPU 2.50GHz, 4GB RAM, Crucial 240GB SSD) running Win 7 Pro 64. Now I've scoured the net and can't find a single post with my unique problem. My laptop seems to work great in every way untill I start using it on battery power. The bat charges fine and holds a good charge. It'll runn for hours on that charge too so I don't see that as a sourse of the isue. …

I got a new laptop and I didn't have enough money to buy Microsoft Office so I got Kingsoft Office instead. I'm trying to copy and paste a questionnaire that I completed online for a quiz for class. The questionnaire has the question and a box where you select true or false. I was able to highlight it all and copy and paste it into Microsoft Word on my old computer and the question and answer would appear. With Kingsoft when I paste the questions and answers it only displays the questions. Any idea how I can paste it so …

I've been having a problem trying to install Windows 7 on a Windows Vista computer. Vista was running fine but wanted to upgrade it, which should be simple. I've done the same thing countless times on other comuters without a problem. So I put the Win 7 install disk in the optical drive and the install fails while windows was "installing files". Ran all the system checks to make sure there was no problem with the optical drive, memory, etc., and the install still stops mid stream telling me there was an I/O error. I can only think it's beause …

While trying to log in to my BBC Store account on my wife's PC, somehow I ended up replacing my wife's name as User at login (the only account and therefore admin) with my own name and Hotmail address. The named Documents folder has also changed to my name. I have no idea how this happened though it has something to do with me logging into Hotmail on her computer. But how do I rectify this and return the computer to her User name alone. My wife's PC runs on Windows 10 Home.

Hi all I recently installed Windows 10 as a clean install using the ISO DVD I downloaded and burned before the free offer ended in July. I also downloaded and installed the anniversary edition (1607). However when I boot up the system will pass the POST stage and start to load Windows. However during this process it will just restart and on the next attempt fully load Windows 10. My configuration consists of the following Gigabyte GA-Z97-D3H motherboard with an Intel I7-4790K CPU and 16GB DDR3 1600 RAM. Sapphire Radeon R7-240 (4GB) graphics. Startech.com 4 port IDE controller card (PCI) …
