So I have completely hit the wall trying to diagnose the problem with setting up Anywhere Access on my Windows Server 2012 R2. I am getting the infamous "Anywhere Access to your server is blocked" error. The error tells me to check that port 443 and 80 isn't blocked by my ISP. My router is a ASUS RT-AC66R I have done the following and still cannot get Anywhere Access working: * Doubled checked and triple checked that port 443 is open with TCP to the IP Address of of my sever. As well as the following ports 25, 80, 987, …

About 3 days ago. My laptop started behaving strangely (I'm on it, right now). I let it fall couple of times, but that was really some time ago about 3 months. Everything worked fine, no errors, crashes, "instant deaths". But recently, as said, 3 days ago. Laptop popped me out a message on pre-Windows level (looks like BIOS), telling me literally " > RTC battery is low. > Press F2 key to set date/time. So I thought, okay, I will set the time and go on with my life. But then I went in a game (lateron I found out …

Hi, Wondering if you lovely people can help me; my career goal is to succeed in IT but due to family issues I had to drop out of my degree. With this being networking and dealing with Microsoft Windows Server I would love to complete the MCSA. However, in a production environment I assume that many businesses will not use the latest version due to security issues and bugs. What would you recommend as a safe certification to complete that will give me more chances in getting into an IT Support Role. (2008, 2012, 2016). Thanks, in Advance! Antony

How can I allow a non administrator domain user account to enable/disable network adapter. I have many users in my company domain named as mycompany.org who are using Dell laptop with windows 7 professional. I am using Windows Server 2008 R2 as domain controller. On priority, my users need to enable / disable network adapter (its my organization requirement), but currently the system denies them this privilege without an administrator password. Hi all I have an old windows server 2003 (32bit) with a shared folder containing an executable. The exe is old and I think possibly 16bit. I am trying to run the exe on a networked pc through a mapped folder / network location. The pc is running win 7 (32bit) and after clicking the exe shortcut a message appears asking whether I want to allow the program, which I allow but then nothing happens. I have two pc's already running the exe this way and installed win 7 from the same disk onto an older laptop which was also …

Up until recently whenever someone on the network went to a site that required an SSL certificate it would say that there is a securuty risk confirm exception blah blah blah, I managed to fix that but only after confirming the first time. Lets use gmail.com as an example, every single time I went to the site the security warning popped up, now it pops the first time and then never again even after restarting, wonderful just what I wanted. Now here is my problem, I have to do this to about 300 computers, is there a way aside from …

Hi all, I am trying to schedule a Task that will run a vb script to open a browser, send some keys, and finally close the browser. The task starts, but seems to hang. The task is created as follows: `schtasks.exe /Create /RU "SYSTEM" /SC "DAILY" /MO "1" /ST "23:00" /TN "Open Browser" /TR "C:\somefolder\somescript.vbs"` The script looks like: Set oShell = WScript.CreateObject("WScript.Shell") oShell.Exec "iexplore http://localhost/mylocalsite" WScript.Sleep 10000 oShell.SendKeys "uname" oShell.SendKeys "{TAB}upassword" oShell.SendKeys "{ENTER}" WScript.Sleep 20000 'Close browser' oShell.SendKeys "^w" Also, adding c:\program files\internet explorer\ to my path variable allows me to execute iexplore as a command.

I have a series of stand alone business computers that are not allowed to be connected to the internet but yet I have to keep up with MS updates. Downloading the Microsoft monthly Security updates on ISO is helpful, but installing them on 7 PC's , one at a time is painful. I have to imagine there is a script that can be wrtten or perhaps a tool that is available pull from a local repository ( That I store the ISO or monthly updates in) . True?

I have modified permissions, edited config files, and rewritten my code several times and no results whatsoever. I am at a dead end and I have no way around this that I have come up with or been able to find online though countless help forums. The error that I am having seems so simple but has become a major roadblock. I have a php script that runs on submit after one has upload up to 4 files, for simplicity and testing’s sake I have focused on just managing to upload 1 file but nothing so far. I have apparently …

Through regedit I exported from ntuser.dat all branch [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows Messaging Subsystem] to the .reg the file. I placed in the virtual disk the received file of the register and base with letters. Letters are read without problems, accounts are loaded, but WITHOUT PASSWORDS. In Outlook of a field of passwords empty though keys of POP3 Password are present at the register and are filled with values. Accordingly, when checking mail servers require you to enter a password. Hello all. I am having an issue with the dual NIC's on my Gigabyte 890FXA-UD5. I'll start from the beginning to give as much info as possible. I had Server 2008 R2 installed and was given a copy of Server 2012 R2. Both NIC's were present in 2008 and were still available when I upgraded with 2012 R2. The other day, I registered a domain to do some work with Exchange 2013 and email addresses. Therefore, I changed the name of the domain to the name of the .com domain I registered. While using the rendom method, I ran into …

Hello all, The issue I am having involves a user that uses a CAC to log in to a network. When the account is created, a 10-digit number printed on the CAC is associated with the users account and replaces their User Logon Name in ADUC. This users number was incorrectly applied to another account, but with thousands of users its practically impossible to search everh one of them one by one. I am attempting to use Powershell to search by UPN to identify the account that has the number associated incorrectly, but I am only finding syntax that set …

With windows server 2003 losing support in the coming weeks we have upgraded our 2003 servers to virtualized 2008 servers. The only problem we are having at the moment is with Group Policy and mapping drives. Previous to this upgrade we used a logon.vbs which "worked" but was nearing 10 years old and did have faults every once in a while. However since the change the script is a complete bust, broken, no drives map from it and so we have to run to each work station and remap drives manually. We have since removed the logon.vbs from being used …

Which 12 year old operating system which is still running on 11 million servers is about to die? Yep, that's the one: Microsoft Windows Server 2003 reaches 'end of life' status on July 14th. One of the longest running discussions on DaniWeb asks the question [Why does Windows XP refuse to die?](https://www.daniweb.com/hardware-and-software/microsoft-windows/windows-nt-2000-xp/news/294897/why-does-windows-xp-refuse-to-die) and I have my suspicions that we may be asking the same of Windows Server 2003 in the years to come. Which is fine as far as it goes, unfortunately that's not very far in terms of security as there will be no more security patches, updates or …

I have a 2008 server 1U, it is a very powerful bugger, 2xQuad/32GB and 2x500GB on RAID1, for the past year, I have been using NAS drives for network users to store, but I think I can do better with a proper storage server attached to the server as part of the AD domain, but confused as to what I actually need to make one. My limited vision of this is to have another server running Windows Storage Server, then somehow link them up with a card each on each server, but what cards do I need if this is …
