It is with great sadness that I make the announcement that Davey (aka happygeek) is stepping down as community administrator of DaniWeb.
You may have noticed that Davey has not been active on the site for a couple of days. Effective immediately, he is stepping down from both of his roles on DaniWeb as both community administrator and head staff writer.
Although he has been trying his best to keep it from his online world, Davey is currently going through an extremely traumatic personal situation, and he feels as if he can no longer continue his roles on DaniWeb.
Perhaps he will be back. (I sure hope so, because I, for one, don't know what the site will do without him!) In the meantime, he really needs to take an extended leave for as long as he needs.
That being said, Narue (Julienne) is stepping up to the plate to replace him as community administrator. I don't think that Narue needs much of an introduction. Julienne has been with DaniWeb since 2004 and has nearly 10,000 posts under her belt, mostly in our C and C++ forums. She is a highly respected member of the community who acted in the capacity of Super Moderator, heading up our moderation team, for a number of years. After stepping down from that role and taking some time to herself, she's now ready to reprise a role on DaniWeb. To be honest, I can't think of a better choice to replace Davey during this very hard time.
