Today is a Labor Day holiday in USA.

Labor Day, the first Monday in September, is a creation of the labor movement and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers. It constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country.

Today its just a holiday for beer and barbecue. Sadly, with high unemployment, many people don't have much to celebrate about.

I heard Labour Day was moved from Mayday to undermine worker solidarity in North America.

You heard wrong. Labor Day was yesterday -- Monday.
