I was just wondering...

Where did the member search go?

It used to be at the top and now it's gone....

Hi,

I wanted to reserve the top row for links related to a member's particular user account.

A member search is not at all a commonly used feature, and therefore, to eliminate clutter (ie there's no reason to have an infrequently used item in prime page real estate) I simply made it accessible by clicking on the membercount in the Statistics area of the sidebar.
