Community Center Chat window

The Community Center Chat window keeps appearing (opening) after I close it which is rather annoying.

It might be a bug..I'll talk to an admin

Currently running an experiment where it opens by default. If you close it, it stays closed for the rest of your browser session, but then reopens again the next time you visit the site.

You probably have the full chat window open somewhere.

I've seen the same thing. Sometimes I have to close the chat twice before it stays closed.

Sorry I've just accidently half-mentioned this here. I haven't got any other windows open, and with every new page I have to do the same again to close it.

I was about to post this same message. It opens automatically when I load a page, and that's neat, but closing it only lasts for thirty seconds or so. I thought it was a new message when it opened the second time. I guess it just wanted to be open.

In latest chrome, for me it's fine. I visit daniweb, the chatbox fires up, I shut it, and it does no appear again until I restart my browser.

I've seen the same thing. Sometimes I have to close the chat twice before it stays closed.

The close button closes out of the individual chat room that it is in. Most likely, you have multiple chat room alerts for some reason (i.e. someone posted something new to your shoutbox) which is why you would need to close out of it more than once. Essentially you're closing out of each new alert individually.
