Google have just announced that laptops shipped with Chrome OS will be released in “Late Fall”. Google’s aim is to challenge Microsoft and Apple on the desktop, by releasing an operating system with the same ideals as the Chrome web browser. With the Chrome browser, Google set out to release a browser which runs quickly and flawlessly, without bombarding the user with options they didn’t want.

The goal is to make it so that your computer can instantly turn on and access the web. The system will be completely web-centred, with information stored on servers in “the cloud”, rather than on your own hard disk. This allows people to use any Chrome OS laptop as if it was their own, and not risk data loss if a laptop is lost or stolen

I won't touch anything released by Gooooooooooogle with a 10 foot pole. It's all spyware.
Expect Chrome to send everything you do to Gooooooooooogle for sale to the highest bidder.
