Hi Guys,

We launched Tumtube.com(www.tumtube.com), in mid December 2006. We were not sure at that time who much it will get success in market as so many indian youtube scripts are on market and they are full of adult videos which are attracting so many crowd in india and pakistan.

At that time we realize that although there are so many sites available but there is no site which representing DESI Community rather they all focusing pakistani and indian Movies and songs instead of promoting community to participate.

Well guys these were the reason we thought to provide required services for Desi Community. we made some effort and here we are but still alot of things need to be done.

Guys need ur suggestions and opinion that how could we improve it and make this site best in market.

Thanx in advance for ur suggestions and opinions.

have a nice day.
Bye.

A few practical, focused suggestions that build on ’s goals and the thread remarks from (name/branding) and (playback):

Start with brand clarity — run quick checks for distinctiveness, pronunciation in target languages, and social/handle availability. If there’s concern about confusion with larger platforms, consider short A/B tests of 2–3 name/logo options with a handful of target users before committing. Secure matching domains and key social handles early.

Keep trust and discoverability high. Publish concise upload rules, a simple moderation workflow (auto-filter + human review), clear takedown/reporting steps, and a visible content policy. Retain upload logs and have a takedown procedure aligned with copyright norms (basic DMCA-style process for US-hosted services) — see DMCA guidance: DMCA takedown basics.

Technical and UX priorities to preserve the smooth playback noticed: transcode into multiple bitrates/resolutions, deliver with adaptive streaming (HLS/DASH), and front content with a CDN to reduce startup latency. Offer H.264 for broad compatibility and WebM/VP9 or AV1 for storage/bandwidth savings where supported. Monitor Real User Metrics (startup time, rebuffering, bitrate switches) and test on low-bandwidth mobile conditions.

Boost SEO and sharing by enforcing good metadata, localized categories/tags, thumbnails, and structured data. Example JSON-LD for a video object (adapt fields) — this helps search indexing and rich results:

<script type="application/ld+json">
{
  "@context": "http://schema.org",
  "@type": "VideoObject",
  "name": "Short title",
  "description": "One-line description",
  "thumbnailUrl": "https://example.com/thumb.jpg",
  "uploadDate": "2023-01-01",
  "contentUrl": "https://example.com/video.mp4",
  "embedUrl": "https://example.com/embed/123"
}
</script>

See Google’s video structured-data docs for details: Video structured data.

Launch with a focused creator base, iterate on moderation and retention metrics, and scale infrastructure only after validating early engagement.
