Look I Have No Sound On My Computer At All I Would Like To Have Sound.could Some One Please Help Me With This Mater.the Name Of My Sound Device Is Sound Pro And I Tried To Down Load A Device To Get It Up And On But It Did Not Work.please Somebody Help Me Wuth Step By Step Of What To Do And I Have Speakers Connected To My Computer.please Help!!!!!!!!

Brand/model name and number of the card, Is it an onboard device or expansion card? are you using MS Windows(xp/2000/me) as much info as you can give :)

My Sound Device Goes By The Name Of Soundproht1869v+e1l269808 And I Went To Driverguide.com To Try To Download The Device But It Not Work So If You Can Be Of Any Assistance Please Help!thanks Very Much.AND ITS WINDOWS98+

Hi, first thing I would suggest is go to Device Manager (Settings-control panel-system-hardware-device manager) and check to see if your soundpro is listed and if it is, it might be highlighted with a yellow exclamation mark. I'm not great with windows98 but try that and post the results :)

Try driverguide.com and look for the drivers for your sound card.... Also have a look in control panel/device manager and look at the audio devices to see iif winows recognises the problem.. if there is ay problems with your audio devies they will have either little yellow exclamation mark or even a red cirlcle if they are disbaled.. if u double clickon them it will tell you there status.

had a look at the basic 5150 manual and it doesent list a modem as standard so if it's a pci modem the problem is probably just down to settings. Have you tried looking in the device manager to see if there are any yellow exclamation marks?

click on start-->control panel-->system--> hardware--> device manager.

There you should see a list of all the components recognised by your computer. If there are any coonflicts or problems it will highlight the device with a yellow exclamation mark

Ok in the device manager see if it says what make and model the modem is and I'll have a look for some info on it

it's a while since I used a modem so I'm not up to geek speed on them but I think I remember dealing with a similar problem where the modem stopped the soundcard from working by allocating the resources to speech or answerphone.

All right, I think I have found the right post and the right website...
I've tried acting cool and reinstalling my computer after a virus but I cannot install the sound drivers efficiently...
I've been through it for two weeks now I call you guys for help, my gun is not loaded yet but I may change my mind after hearing the MIDI bip bip....

by the looks of things your motherboard is an asrock AM2NF6G-VSTA try downloading the motherboard drivers from the asrock site and installing them. The driver package should contain the nforce chipset drivers :-)

Hmmmnn... Well you might well have already tried the device manager route that is listed earlier in this thread. Post whats listed under Sound,video and audio and check that everything says "This device is working properly."

Also have a look in Control Panel-->Sound and audio devices and check whats listed under default device.

If all that still looks ok and your sure there's nothing muted anywhere (yeah I know it's basic but we've all done it :-) Then it might be worthwhile cleaning the audio codecs with Driver Cleaner Pro http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=745 follow the instructions to the letter! and then try re installing

Hi everyone. If anyone has an answer to them bless you!!

I am so frustrated with this.
Short story: I re-installed xp to find that not only I don’t have internet but no sound device installed. I don’t understand how this is possible I thought once you install everything comes with it.

I can’t find what soundcard I have
I have a lenovo c300 laptop
Is there any answer????????//

Try this first

click on start-->control panel-->system--> hardware--> device manager.

There you should see a list of all the components recognised by your computer. If there are any coonflicts or problems it will highlight the device with a yellow exclamation mark

Post any problems listed

Also did you peform a system restore or just reinstall windows? Try going to the lenovo site and then downloads & drivers. You should be able to download the drivers for your notebook and once installed everything should be fine..... with a bit of luck :-)

it needs to install the driver? According to Device Manager, I'm also missing drivers for Ethernet Control Card, PCI device, PCI input, Multimedia Control Card, and USB Control Card. Does it matter that I don't have these? Is the lack of any of these the reason why I can't get sound? And if so, where can I get these things?

Oh, and one more thing, if I upgrade to Windows XP (again Traditional Chinese version), would my driver problems go away?

P.S. -- Anothing thing, because the computer is company property, the box is locked, and I am not allowed to open it up to physically inspect the parts or make adjustments. I can only use software to determine what hardware components it has inside. Don't know if this matters.

Hi, I have always had sound on my computer but for some reaosn if I put a disc in, nothing happens & I csn't plsy videos off facebook etc. I have looked into the control panel and teted the speakers and they work ok - weird!! Any ideas?
