Hi,

My motherboard is an Asus A8N-Sli Deluxe and my hard drive is 200GB Seagate Barracuda.

Here goes, I had the hard drive up and running and all working fine. Then something happend and my best option was just to format the drive and start all over again.

When I started to install windows on the blank hard drive it didnt see that any drive was connected. I needed the PC up and running soon as so i plugged an IDE hard drive in and installed windows on that with no problem.

Now i have windows and everything loaded up it still hasnt been able to recognise the SATA harddive. However a silicon image controller programme has detected the drive and says that it is healthy.

My device manager says that there is a unkown device but im not sure if that is the SATA drive and it doesnt show up under the disk drives.

Im trying to work it out by myslef but any help would be much appreciated.
