Hey guys, I'am planning to buy a new laptop and I personally think that it shoud have SSD. I have read a lot that SSD's are better than HDD. So can you please suggest me any good laptop which comes with SSD. My budget is near about $800 and I don't need a large storage space as well. Looking forward to your suggestions

Hey lately i have currently been looking for a new cpu cooler considering that i still have the default stock cooler that came with the cpu and/or case... Which isn't really doing its job too well not cooling and extremely loud (doesn't help that the computer is in the hottest room thats like a oven through out the day). I would like to aim for something between $30-60$ excluding postage costs (preferably something cheaper thats half decent).

I am trying to find a way to create an un-deletable partition/content on a USB pen drive. Basically my client wants to give customers a pen drive as a welcome gift with some multimedia and document content already recorded on a partition of the drive. The rest of the drives capacity would be for the customer to use as normal. Is there a software or method I can use to prevent erasure of this content?

I'm trying to just do something fun for the kids in my class. I want to give the top students a USB Drive as a prize that has a link to a whole bunch of fun learning tools. To make that special, I want to be sure the website can't be accessed by anyone not using the link on the USB drive. This does not have to be any high level encryption; just something that works on the surface and can't be easily figured out by a 6th grader. I was thinking to 1) Make the webpage password-protected. 2) Make …

I've installed a new pci-e sata2 raid card, but it won't detect any hard drive. When i access the software to set up the raid, (silicon image 3132) right after the bios, it doesn't show any physical drives, as if there was no hdd connected to it at all. Jumper settings on the raid card are ok. Power to the hdd's is ok. I'm connecting 2 identical hdds, WD 160gb, sataII. One of them has got data, and the other one is just formatted. Both of them are detected if i connect them directly to the sata ports on the …

I need to store videos and pictures somewhere. I host my sites on shared hosting because they don't require much power and shared hosting can handle them just fine (for now). I'm planning to create something new that requires video and picture uploading. So I need storage space to upload files, I'll lose bandwidth for displaying images/videos. I was looking at S3 and Google Cloud but they have few billing options. Can someone who is more experienced tell me which should I use and how those cloud storages work. Do they bill bandwidth and storage, what about displaying videos and …

I have all of my components for a new build but before I start I have been thinking about maybe getting an SSD to use as my boot drive. I have a very large collection of music, 200 plus Gb worth. I keep it in " My Music " on my old computer. Obviousely there wont be room for it all if I install Windows on the SSD as its just over 200 Gb. Do I put my music on my regular HDD and if so, how do I connect it to " My Music " which will be on …

Hello, I have a USB flash drive which was working properly for months, but today, when inserted into a workstation, it is being opened in read-only mode, whereby I can read and execute files on it, but not add anything to it or modify a document from it. Tried to format it but got a surprise as this operation failed as well due to the read-only mode. The flash drive does not have any physical switch to change it to read-only mode and back to writeable-mode. How can I solve this issue? Regards.

My daughter has a Samsun Android tablet that has ran out of space so I purchased an sd card. The card is mounting and I reformatted it from the Android device but the device is still claiming to be full when she tries to install new apps. I tried this site http://www.howtogeek.com/242937/how-to-set-up-a-new-sd-card-in-android-for-extra-storage/ but that app never popped up when I inserted the sd card into the Samsung's slot. Any ideas on how I can give her extra app storate space for her tablet? Thanks.

I'm looking for a cloud based storage of up to 150 gigs / month that allows scripting and to sync from a network drive; I'm hoping someone can offer some suggestions as I've spent quite a bit of time searching & most packages are 500 gigs or 1TB /month which is far beyond what I require or have the data to spare.

Hello to all! I have started learning android recently and I am facing a problem in file handling (in internal storage). I wrote a simple program which creates a file and writes some data in that file . I have two buttons first button writes data in the file and creates a toast message saying: "file saved" and second button reads data from the file and creates a toast message "file read". But the problem is that I when i press first button The toast message displays perfectly but I don't know that where the file goes in my device …

I am writing an **automation test** using **python**, where an **android app** records an audio and stores it in a specific directory within the internal storage (sdcard0) of the android device. I need to check whether the **recording** (recordingX.mp3) actually exists with the same name within the specific directory or not.. If YES, the latest file should be given a new name. As part of this, I tried writing code.. But I was not able to locate the exact path for the recorded audio.. This is the tree structure of the actual location.. -> Internal Storage -> Maverick ->recording1.mp3 ->recording2.mp3 …

Hi. Help me to understand. The problem has one of the employees, he demolished mail, while maintaining files .ost. In fact there should be no problems. Always when the client connects to the Outlook (if storage was Mailbox Exchange) is automatically pulled from the mail server. But this is not happening. It draws only the contacts and everything. I looked a mailbox on a server size of 20kb. And the size of the .ost 135mb. It is logical that there is a server-mails therefore they .ost. Surfing network I found pair program conversion .ost to .pst. But they didn’t help. …

Bought an HP Elitebook 6930p at auction. It was dirt cheap beacuse it had some kind of HDD encryption on it and no one new what it was or how to crack it. When you booted it up all you saw was a bunch of numers in increments of 4. I figured a new HDD Drive would do the trick. I bought a used HDD and I am trying to use it but when i start the computer i get "Non-System Disk or disk error replace and strike any key when ready. Here are the specifics: The laptop is a …

I have a 20 gig drive in a firewire enclosure. It works. I bought a new 80 gig drive to replace the 20. I put it in the enclosure. OS X 3.4 Server told me that I needed to initialize the new disk. Disk Utility opens up. It sees the drive. I try to partition it. Disk Utility says, "unknown error -20". I try to erase it. Disk Utility says, "unknown error -20". I put my good old 20 gig back in the enclosure (I had thrown all files in the trash previous to taking it from the enclosure.) OS …

Hi guys, My name is Leonard E Norwood Jr. I'm a senior at Norfolk State University and a beginning of programming. I'm just working on a small program on my own time to practice. So you're familiar with the playing cards and the logic of dealing a deck with 4 players. I've been working on it for some time, but I think I'm making beginner's mistakes with this program. Take a look: #include <stdio.h> #include <stdlib.h> #include <time.h> #define TRUE 1 #define FALSE 0 #define BOOL int #define NUM_SUITS 4 #define NUM_RANKS 13 int main(void) { BOOL in_hand[NUM_SUITS],[NUM_RANKS] = {FALSE}; …

Hitachi has now announced a 1-terabyte internal hard drive, claiming they're the first to unveil a 1 terabyte hard drive in the industry. It doesn't sound terribly impressive, given the fact that storage mediums are increasing faster than you can blink an eye. However, they have done quite a feat if you look more closely. For one, the pricing is very attractive. This hard drive costs a mere $399, cheaper than a lot of smaller-capicitated portable hard drives. This makes it quite inexpensive to get the huge amounts of storage, which will especially attract server-storage people. Secondly, they have made …
