Help!! Cannot run AVG antivirus or any other online scan

Hello!

Please help me... I cannot run AVG (8.0) antivirus which worked perfectly until some days ago. Now I click on the AVG icon in the start menu and nothing happens, no tray icon appears and the antivirus appears to be non working.

PS: Apparently I cannot use any online scan also. Only Panda worked after a couple of tries and it didn't detect anything, but I suspect that...

Well, in my case it was a false alarm. I can't explain why AVG stopped working but it did. As for internet slowness, it was something related to my router. Although it is a good quality product (3COM brand), strangely all wifi connections were extremely slow. I changed some parameters in the router configuration, restarted it and now connection is normal.

As for AVG, I uninstalled it and then installed Avast! antivirus, which seems to be working flawlessly and is also free for personal use.

PS: Apparently I cannot use any online scan also. Only Panda worked after a couple of tries and it didn't detect anything, but I suspect that...

Hello I had the same issue. Updated my antivirus and it found W32/Sality virus and some malware caled Autorun.clx. Clearing them resolved the issue.
