Ive searched the web countless times, and countless sites - It seems there is no fix for this.

I recently had a nasty virus on my computer, which I got rid of, If I ran Malware or HiJackthis my logs would be clear, so please dont ask for logs - Ive recently got them, they are clear with this issue.

But Its a "Restricted Site!" Virus. Whenever you try Youtube, Myspace and various other sites, it blocks it. This is the message it redirects me to.

"Restricted Site!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This web site is restricted based on your security preferences.

Your system is infected. Please activate your antivirus software
"

It seems over hundreds of people are having this problem, it came out no ealrier than july I would say.

Does anyone have a fix for this? Im already using a go-around which is pinging the ip of the website through command prompt to access the site.

Anyone found anything? Or could post some advice, or if your having the same problem

Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware (http://www.majorgeeks.com/Malwarebytes_Anti-Malware_d5756.html) to your desktop.

* Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
* At the end, be sure to checkmark the Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
* If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
* Once the program has loaded, select Perform full scan, then click Scan.
* When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
* Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
* When completed, a log will open in Notepad.
* Post the log back here.

Make sure that you restart the computer.

The log can also be found here:
C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\Logs\log-date.txt
Or at C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\Logs\log-date.txt

=====

Download HijackThis Executable from here. Save it to your desktop.
Start HJT & press the "Do a system scan and save a log file" button. When the scan is finished a window will pop up giving you the option of where to save it. Save it to desktop where it is easy to access. Open the log file and then go to the format Tab and make sure that wordwrap is unchecked. Copy the entire contents of the file & paste it into the body of your post. DO NOT FIX ANYTHING YET. Most of what is there is necessary for the running of your system.

malwarebytes did not work.

I have had this same problem and have tryed webroot, trend micro and microsoft live...they got rid of some of the problems but that nagging restricted screen is still in the way...i will try this and see what happens

Warlock, this thread is six months old and the original poster never returned so we DO NOT know for sure what happened to him and the second poster actually hijacked the thread and posted logs without stating his problems.

You need to begin your own thread. It is possible you do not really have the same infection as the original poster. Begin your own thread, with its own title and state all the problems you have been having. Also list all steps you have taken and post any logs you have from tools you have run.
