I continusly receive "Page Cannot Be Found Errors"in IE and "www.page_name_here.com could not be found" errors in Firefox. If I hit refresh several times the pages eventually come up. It doesn't always happen. Error appears about 80% of the time. Refreshing the page over and over again fixes the problem everytime. Sometimes IE puts the ASCII code for a space in between the http:// and the www . This is severely hindering our abilites to get anything done. I have seen several posts but not clear cut answer. I have run Spysweeper, Norton AV, Spybot, Adaware and Trojan Hunter with no luck. Here is my lohg file. Can ANYONE PLEASE HELP!!!!

Hi edallin, welcome to DaniWeb :D

Sorry this got overlooked, it's been pretty busy here lately. :(

If you're still having problems, try IEFix:
http://windowsxp.mvps.org/utils/IEFix.zip

And then post a new hijackthis log please.

Hi. I'm a user from Singapore. I encountered a similar error at home recently and didn't manage to get rid of it after about 1 hour tinking around. I noticed that we have installed similar programs like NAV, Diskeeper, firefox, etc. I'm using adaware and running a full scan with updated definations yielded no results.

The strange thing is that other profiles is not affected. Like you, I experience a "page cannot be found" error most of the time. And likewise, refreshing a few times (around 4 to 5) will finally load the page. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling IE via the winxp cd. Recently installed programs is firefox which I have not tried uninstalling yet. Also I upgraded NAV to version 10. Firefox also experience a similar problem but lesser frequency. I suspect it is a conn problem but then again, the inet conn on other profiles on the computer are working fine. I have disable the NAV by killing the process as well as killed my ZoneAlarm (firewall) as well as bypassed my sonicwall (hardware firewall). All in vain.

Currently at work and not at home. Will not be able to access my home computer till at least wed night but I did some research this morning and yield a few KB articles which might be useful.

Meanwhile, can anyone help me?

*Update*
Oh, something I forgot. It cannot be the conn. My MSN is working fine and so are the other programs which needs web access like the weather program, etc.

Hi RAIDer, welcome to DaniWeb.

If you've already tried the IEFix mentioned above and are still having problems, please post a HijackThis log in a new thread. There is a link to HijackThis info. in my signature block below.
