Hi all

I recently downloaded tvants and I've subsequently been told that the build I was using housed certain viruses.

Every 10 mins IE opens up by itself with the following page : http://www.k662.com/home.htm?k1

I've tried norton anti virus, spybot search and destroy, Webroot spy sweeper, spyware guard and spyware blaster - all to no affect.

Spyguard informs me that my homepage is being change from www.google.com to http://www.k662.com/home.htm?k1 each time I boot windows.

I'm not that comfortable with all this technical stuff, but I've got a hijackthis log for your perusal.

Please let me know if there's anything untoward going on.

I Would really appreciate the help.

Cheers

Lovesexy

Go to Add/Remove Programs in your Control Panel and remove Viewpoint (or View Point Manager).

Follow the instructions given here:

Note -- there are two 'start.exe' and 'Msbb.exe' entries, make sure you get them both.

Close all open browser windows, and then hit the 'Fix Checked' button.

Go to the following locations and delete the highlighted folder and files:

E:\Program Files\Viewpoint

E:\WINDOWS\rundl132.exe
C:\Windows\system32\winsrvs_1.dll

Do a search for the following and delete any instances found:

Msbb.exe
Start.exe

Empty your Recycle Bin and reboot.

If you still have problems, please post a new log.

Tip: Do a search here on DaniWeb for 'CTHELPER.EXE' to determine whether or not you need it.

Cheers!!

Seems to have solved the problem. Ended up using Killbox to get rid of start.exe and ntio.exe as these two didn't show up when searched for.

Thanks again.
