Hello, I keep having this problem with a system32\bridge.dll error message pop-up on start-up and I don't know what the problem is. Also my Internet Explorer isn't working properly and I was wondering if this might be causing the problem with IE. Any help would be great. :o

You've got "spyware" in your system. The bridge.dll error is (unfortunately) quite well known.

I'm moving this thread to our Security forum. Read through some of previous bridge.dll-related threads in that forum for the solution to that particular problem, and then read the info in the following link to find out how to get and use the recommended (and free) detection and removal tools:

Might I suggest Ad-Aware and Spybot

Download the latest version of Ad-Aware at ADAWARE

Download SPYBOT

How to setup Ad-Aware and Spy-Bot S&D
http://www.zerosrealm.com/scanning.php

And after that, please do the following:

Download 'Hijack This!'.HERE

Unzip (extract) it to a folder of its own.Like c:\HJT\hijackthis.exe , Then Doubleclick HijackThis.exe (in the new folder), and hit "Scan".
When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log" button.
Press that, then Ctrl-A to Select All, and copy its contents here. for hijackthis, most of what it lists will be harmless or even essential, don't fix anything yet.

reboot computer and post a new hijackthis log

I am also having the an error show up when I start-up (C:\WINDOWS\System32\bridge.dll). I have downloaded hijackthis and have run a scan and the results are as follows:

Logfile of HijackThis v1.97.7

Any help to eradicate this problem will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you-

Goldenwalt13,

You need to post your question in it own thread. For reason of clarity, we ask that our members abide by our "one member's question per thread" rule, because once multiple members start posting multiple questions in a pre-existing thread, it quickly becomes difficult to follow which answers relate to which questions. Doing so is also not fair to the person who first started the thread- it takes the focus of the thread away from their problem.

Please click on the "Rules" menu item at the top right-hand side of our pages and read through the guidelines for more on our general posting policies.

Thanks for understanding,
