i have installed mplayer in SUSE linux enterprise server 11. but it does not play video in the foreground.while it is playing(producing sound only), i cant do other tasks and it hung till i have to forcibly shutdown the computer. i think it needs some libraries in order to play video graphically. can anyone help me ?

You re using an enterprise server to play video and shut down when it hang? I hope the server do not have 1000 user connect to it. That will be a disaster.
