My laptop is an Hp Paviliondv6233se and just recently i received a computer virus it is called (MS) antivirus. I tried to get rid of it by deleting some files in my windows registry but i gave up, then i downloaded malware bytes, and it deleted some files, but the little icons on the toolbar are still there. Now when i start my computer, the background is black and the only icon that now shows is the recycle bin. Can someone tell me how to reboot my computer to its original, so its like a just got it. Is there a way to do it without the CD or using system restore points because my laptop didn't have any system restore points. Like maybe theres a way to restore it in safe mode? Help would be really appreciated.

reported an MS Antivirus infection, Malwarebytes runs and a black desktop with only the Recycle Bin visible, plus the error:
C:\Windows\system32\config\systemprofile\Desktop is not accessible. Access is denied. Two practical routes exist: try a non‑destructive profile/Explorer repair first, and if that fails use the HP factory recovery (which will erase the drive). was right that HP ships a recovery facility, but most HPs use F11 (Recovery Manager) at boot to start it — back up personal data before using this. ()

Non‑destructive repair (try before wiping): the error usually means the system profile’s Desktop folder is missing or has wrong permissions. Boot to Safe Mode (tap F8 at startup) or to the Vista Recovery Command Prompt, then create the folder and copy the Default Desktop contents into it. From an elevated Command Prompt run (one line each):

md "C:\Windows\System32\config\systemprofile\Desktop"
xcopy "C:\Users\Default\Desktop" "C:\Windows\System32\config\systemprofile\Desktop" /E /I

Restart and see if Explorer restores the normal desktop. Microsoft documentation and community answers show this fix often recovers the missing icons and removes the access denied message. (learn.microsoft.com)

If malware remains (MS Antivirus is a known rogue/“scareware”), follow a targeted removal sequence: run RKill to stop malicious processes, then a full scan with Malwarebytes and a second opinion scanner (HitmanPro or similar). If Windows won’t behave, run scans from Safe Mode with Networking or from clean external media. BleepingComputer’s MS Antivirus removal guide documents the recommended tool order and steps. (bleepingcomputer.com)

If repair and cleanup fail, use HP’s Recovery Manager (F11) or recovery media to restore factory condition — this formats the disk, so copy user files first (use Safe Mode, a command prompt, or a Linux live USB to copy the Users folder). If F11 is not available or the partition was deleted, HP offers recovery options and media ordering. ()

Summary: try the Desktop-folder repair first (low risk), run the rogue‑AV removal steps, back up everything, then use HP recovery only if necessary.

I also get the error message that says C:\Windows\system32\config\systemprofile\Desktop is not accessible. Access is denied.
what does mean, and what should i do with my laptop, is it unfixable?

reboot your computer. Watch the screen and when you see F10 System Restore, start pressing the F10 key repeatedly and the system will go into a Restore section that will allow you to get back your computer as it was when you took it out of the package. There's a partition on HP computers with the original files!

It sounds like your system is fairly new but you should back up all the files that you've created if you need them before you do this...the process will format your hard disk.

hi i hav a e system el3102 laptop how do i reset it to factory settings ?

You should have some restore cds/dvds. What you generally do with these discs is put them in the drive and then restart the computer - the computer will boot up off the discs instead of the hard drive and provide a restoration environment of some sort that you can use to fix things.
