Dear members:
I purchased a domain on http://nic.ec/eng/home.htm, the official registrar for Ecuadorian domains.
I tried to add the domain to my 1and1 hosting account unsuccessfully because I kept getting a message about porton.com.ec being considered a subdomain.
I contacted the company and after several emails they told me :
"You will not be able to add the domain porton.com.ec into our system. It
is a subdomain as the extension of com.ec is not a valid extension."
I would like for someone to explain the me the possible causes o the company not being able to host my domain.
Also can someone explain to me the deal about top second third level domains that has created some confusion to my mind ;D
Lastly, can someone recommend a web host that will be capable of hosting my domain
porton.com.ec
