AI is just in its infancy, and right now everyone and their mother is using it to quickly get access to information online more efficiently than a Google search, and generate articles and content for the web. A lot of companies are also switching to AI agents to power customer support chat bots. However, what about in a handful of years from now? Will AI be used to power self-driving cars? What about instead of powering those annoyingly useless chat bots they start being used to run critical infrastructure? Can humans triaging an emergency room be replaced with AI agents determining patient priority? Equipped with access to all of the medical research and diagnoses and their symptoms that exists in the world, would they do a better or worse job at it?

It will be interesting to see where AI takes root. I know the medical field has used it to analyze images and identify concerns. What aggravates me is companies that claim AI when you know damn well, they're not using AI.

AI’s potential is huge, but replacing humans in high-stakes areas like emergency rooms or critical infrastructure is tricky. AI can process vast data faster and spot patterns humans might miss, but judgment, ethics, empathy, and accountability are hard to replicate. Who is to say what a sentient AI will find worthwhile? I don't believe you can narrow it down to those two things any more than you can narrow down humans to, for example, sex, power and money. If you are an atheist then you defne your own purpose. Some find purpose in creating art, music, or literature. Others in the betterment of the lives of others or in the advancement of scientific knowledge. Why would sentient AIs not also seek fulfillment in those areas?

Assuming, that gaining awareness, means transferring from an instrument into a lifeform also inherits the survival mechanism of a lifeform. All life forms possess an inherent drive to survive. This drive is essential for the continuation of species and is influenced by various evolutionary processes.(GPT)

Honestly, it depends on the situation. In areas like medical diagnosis, surgeries, or aviation systems, AI can help reduce human mistakes and improve accuracy when experts are supervising it. But trusting AI completely with your life without human involvement doesn’t feel right yet. AI works best as a support system that helps professionals make better decisions. In serious situations, there should always be a human in the loop who reviews the insights and takes the final call. That balance makes AI much more reliable and safer.
