My father was in New York once having diner with the governor (he was there to sign a contract that would generate several thousand jobs in the man's state).
Things progressed nicely until the governor asked where my father came from. He answered he's from the Netherlands, on which the governor responde (obviously proud of his international geography) "Oh, the capital of Copenhagen!".
LOL :lol::lol: nice :confused:
cool, scorpions!
in england all we get are boring animals like badgers
You have badgers in England? I did not know that. I saw a television program a few years ago that talked about actual black panthers supposedly loose and living in the country-side somewhere in England; farmers swore to have spotted them and particular towns worried by this possibility contracted trackers and hunters to determine if it was true. It has never been proven as far as I know.

Someone mentioned bugs. I really like bugs. If I find any in the house I will do all I can to catch them and put them outside-- especially spiders. Spiders are amazing creatures! Their design, form, and function are superb. When I lived in Texas though, while going to school for programming, we had scorpions; they would come in the house in the Summer during droughts looking for water. They were quite small, flat, and almost transluecent-amber. I was laying on my bedroom floor one evening reading a Python book and I saw one looking out from under the bed. It was not frightening yet I did not wish to deal with it directly. I went to my Uncle and told him. He came and crushed it with a shoe. They are almost blind. They just come at you slowly (detecting your heat, I assume) clipping with their little pinchers as if to scare you. They are really quite comical and harmless as they are not poisonous but they will sting if they get the chance.

I do not find that ^ hard to believe. :sad:
Edit from above: "I have been to almost every state in the Union but still end up not placing my own home state of Ohio correctly."
I meant, I did not place it exactly, I do know where my home State is, actually. :)

"Why, yes, a cage-- how else would you suggest moving a patient of this sort? Never you mind the details, Sherman. I am the professional here. She will be in good hands. Very Good Hands."

Hi,
Just wondering as how many pcs exist on this planet including personal computers, corporate ones, unis, public places etc etc. Any idea? Thanks...
My estimate of working, configured, post-assembly line computers would be 1-Billion 100-Million.
Dr. Florence was not the type of Doctor you would trust with a gangreaned appendeage never-the-less the fate of your deepest faiths; we quivered at times when no one was looking, and when people looked, he donned the face of a old-country Doctor-- an old-country Doctor with a secret to keep hidden and with no truth to share.

I love MS-Solitaire. When all other modern video games fail me and my system is overloaded due to the heavy graphics, I can always depend on this game to satisfy my gaming craving while actually exercising my brain. I often play this before or on breaks from coding to get my brain back in logical shape.
The suit is pretty cool and impressive considering the maker designed, built, and tested himself. I could imagine what the D.O.D. could do with it if they got their hands on it: classified materials, etc. I am certain our military labs are already developing similar environments for the modern soldier. The next 20-years will surely reveal some very interesting, military technology.

disappointing --> great expectations
My computer AND my spouse. I realize that I spend most of my day\night on the computer programming for work and personal projects; I work from home so have the luxury of always being around my girlfriend (whom I live with). She does not work so we are always together. We each have our own rig (me the PC, her the laptop); I program and she watches movies on her computer. We are in the same room about 2-3 feet apart. We love it. We do spend great quality, non-computer time together: meals, church, walks, playing with our pets, talking\debating philosophy and religion.
We both look very forward to having a true Virtual Reality system in our house (hopefully within the next 10-20 years); this way we can suit-up, boot up, and travel together. The only issue will probably be what we do in VR: She wants to World travel, I want to travel to the Middle Ages-Europe, WWII. We both love history so I hope we can both visit ancient Athens or Rome together as a compromise. ;)
But, Caroline in her alien intelligence, did not realize that the Doctor was already onto her; upon injecting her with the syringe to settle her madness, he had also introduced Methylhydroxide-4, a chemical recently discovered in the labs of Geneva, originally used on rabid primates. This would control her disturbing powers he was most sure.
