Oh my goodness. That's ridiculous! Did you get any benefits from it? (lower insurance)

Haha, true.
Take This Breath -> Dead Poetic
Lucky? Maybe. I had to pay for everything car related (drivers ed, car, car insurance, etc...), and they weren't the nicest cars in the parking lot. I started with an '86 Toyota Tercel station wagon bought from a co-worker, then a '95 Ford Escort bought at an auction, then a '92 Nissan 240SX (sweet car if I'd been able to sink money into it) from a neighbor, and just recently a '97 VW Jetta (only because the 240SX was wrecked).
Definitely puts a different spin on it when you have to pay for everything though :icon_wink:
Ahh, I see. ;)
I have a '98 grand am with 100,000+ miles on it. But oh well, as long as it gets me from point A to point B.
(Don't they offer driver's ed for free? - They do here.)
Yeah... I think it would kind of be good to have Hillary as President, just because her husband would be right there with her, and he was a pretty good president in my opinion. (Besides the whole scandal situation..)
Ahh, they're both awesome!
I just recently started to watch Heroes. It has a lot of science fiction/action in it.
The Office is just very hilariously funny. ;)
But that's about the only stuff I watch on TV.
I learned some interesting stuff about history today in class. We had special guests from Turkmenistan come in and talk to us. The country used to be part of the U.S.S.R. before WW2 ended.
They talked about some very cool stuff. Their country is so much different than the US! I love learning about different cultures... it's all so interesting. Like today, I learned that most (or all?) of Europe wears their wedding band on the right hand instead of the left. =o
So who is voting for who?
I personally support Obama.
But I'm not for sure yet...
It has been suggested my another member that teens are unjustly stereotyped as being bad drivers.
Oh is it not? =/
Is anyone familiar with the NBC TV series Heroes or The Office?
Which one is your favorite?
Any comments about them?

I'm the only one of my friends that has actually owned their own vehicle (they all borrow their parents' cars on occasion; I'm on my 4th car :P).
4th? Wow, you're lucky. :) I've only had one car, but I will be getting a new one on my 18th birthday. (I'm quite excited)... =p

Martin Luther -> Martin Luther King Jr.
Yeah, exactly. A lot of people don't know that Hitler had Parkinson's and he tried to outlast his own death. He wanted to see himself victorious before he died and rushed things in some areas.
Actually Hitler committed suicide by putting a gun into his mouth in his Berlin bunker. He killed himself because he knew he was being defeated. Where did you hear he had Parkison's?
Yeah, I'm going to be truthful, it wasn't as good as the first two. And it was kind of boring at times.
Yeah, I just need the time and the money. ;)
I think earlier WaltP said that he believed in christianity and evolution. I don't feel like going through the pages to find it. But I just want to know your explanation of why, in Genesis, it says that man came on the sixth day but evolution would have taken many million years. I'm not making an attack. I'm just interested to see what you have to say about it.
I kind of have the same idea. Although I don't completely believe in evolution, I can consider it along with creationism. I mean it's not against Christianity to believe that we have evolved along the way since Adam and Eve. As long as we believe that it was God's doing.
solivagant? I don't know.

I don't understand why you decided to post this thread.
All because I said, 'statistics or stereotypes?'
The sarcasm that is being referred to was made by Kristina who contends that teen drivers are unjustly stereotyped as bad drivers.
You spelled my name wrong.
And honestly, I would like you to quit overreacting. Thank you.
Why do we not have any proof then? (or do we?)
One of my best friends recently lost his eldest son is a car accident, he now is one of those statistics and I don't see any humor in your sarcasm.
Do you think I don't know what losing a person over a car wreck is like? My friend, I am 17 but I have seen more than you think. I have witnessed 2 different car wrecks in which 3 of my classmates have died and I have been in 4 altogether during my lifetime. Do not think that I have not experienced this type of tragedy.
My sarcasm was not pointed towards the death toll due to car accidents, (statistics). It was directed towards the idea that 'all teenagers are bad drivers,' which is clearly a stereotype. If you did not understand that, then I am terribly sorry. But try not to overreact next time.
I watched Spiderman 3 last friday.
It was okay, but was verrrry long. 2 hours and 30 minutes, I think?
