My pastor always uses the 'better safe than sorry' statement.
Basically, he talks about how he would rather believe in Jesus either way, whether it is true or whether it is a lie. Because if you think about it... you're safe! If you die and you're right, you go to Heaven. If you die and you were wrong, oh well at least you're not going to spend an eternity in Hell. That's why so many people convert right before they die -- They don't want to take that chance.

I think it's because they know what a change or difference it made in their lives once they found God. They've gone through things I'll never experience. They serve God more than anyone else because they've lived both ways and I guess they just came to realize which one was better.

Okay... I am going to Chicago this summer to the FBLA National Conference because I won 1st place in the state/regional competition in the category of Computer Apps. My problem is, I need to study a lot more and I'm currently not enrolled in any computer classes. Does anyone know of where I could get my help from? Books, websites, etc.?

All I really need is the basics... (parts of the computer, how they work, and so on.)

Since most of the members that post in this forum are of the younger generation I would to know how to you feel about Paris Hilton as a teen role model?

Paris Hilton is no role model of mine. She is dumb and really needs to get some education. She parties, drinks, and possibly does drugs(?). Yes, some teens tend to think she is something special these days but anyone in their right mind would not follow the footsteps of someone like her. I don't think she's pretty. I don't think she should be allowed to do what she wants just because she's wealthy. I do think she should be in jail for as long as anyone else is. She is not an exception.

Basically, I don't like her. :o)

This whole incident is a crock of crap. Well, not completely, she should be in jail. For the full sentence. Without being placed in a special "high profile" area. No wonder the rich and famous don't learn their lessons...

Just because of the thread topic you should be able to say whatever you want and from now on anyone that gives bad rep to anyone else on this thread will get bad rep from me (unless it is very very obviously deserved) and I know I'll probably get bad rep just for this post but let it happen. And EVERYTIME I bad rep someone for a good reason over something, WolfPack "equalizes" it, even when they bad rep me just to get me back and he doesn't "equalize" any of mine because he has something against me, obviously. Almost everyone in Daniweb does. WolfPack even gives good reps to people who make fun of me - and I'm sick and tired of it. People get mad at me just because I have an opinion of some sort. It's really stupid and unfair. And I guess I should expect some bad reps for this post also. =/

No, I'm a brunette who is smart and knows what she is talking about. This thread is about teenagers who drive, mine and Infarctions conversation was about teenagers who take driver's education in high school. Which is obviously and completely on topic.

The thing is, people are going to believe what they want. I don't think this is ever going to change on this thread. I've tried over and over to convey my beliefs, and I don't think it has had any affect on anyone.

I love debating and standing up for my faith, but it wouldn't bother me too bad if the thread closed. I mean, it is a good thread though. I believe everyone has made very valid posts, for the exception of the name-calling earlier on in this thread.

I do not believe in faith. So basically you are saying that you believe in god because it makes you feel good and makes you have a sense of purpose? And that if it makes you feel better then its ok to believe it?

I've gone through this about a hundred times with Josh. So I suggest you just go back to the last 82 pages.

But again, I do not just worship God because it 'makes me feel good,' I do it because He deserves it. He is worthy of all my praise and glory.

And of course you believe in some kind of faith.
If you study for a test, you have 'faith' that you will make a good grade.
If you go to sleep, you have 'faith' that you will wake up the next morning.

Faith is just another word for assurance and confidence. So you cannot say you don't believe in it. =/

But in reality, we have faith because we believe in Jesus who died for our sins and rose again 3 days later. We don't need any proof, even though there is hundreds of points I could make out.

And what proof do you offer of life after death? What scientific evidence do you have for a soul? Over billions of years, life has evolved into complex organisms that have an advanced state of consciousness. It took billions of years for humans to evolve, and we are not even close to being perfect. Evolution will continue after our deaths, and soon we will all be forgotten..

It's not about proof, it's about faith. Christianity is not like Science... you can't have all the answers you're looking for, sometimes you just have to believe.

This story is another reason why the bible was not supposed to be taken literal. Creating the universe in literally 7 days is unrealistic, and science backs the idea that it took billions of years. The story was simply supposed to tell people that god was the creator.. not specifically how the Earth was created

Actually, the story was written for that purpose, why do you think it describes how God created everything into being? "In the beginning, God created the Heavens and the Earth..." and then it goes on to describe what He did on each day.

Creating the universe in 7 days is of course unrealistic in our simple minds, but remember that Christians believe God is too powerful for us to even begin to comprehend.
