If you can find the cd just simply download the settings of the printer from the net and try it.

I have not been able to find the CD for the printer. It is four years old, and I have moved 3 times since I bought it. Can't find the CD for the Compaq IJ 300.

Do you have a link that I can follow to download the settings from the net?

A few things to start with:

- Was the printer functioning properly at some point in the past?
Yes it was working in the past.

- How is the printer connected to the computer (USB or Parallel cable)?
Parallel cable
- What is the make/model of the printer?
Compaq IJ300
- Have you tried the "Add Printer" wizard under Printers and faxes in your Start Menu?

Yes, I have. Nothing in the window. I am not liking Windows XP now.

I'm still having some trouble opening some exe files. A couple of them actually disappeared once I clicked on them! I don't know what happened. I have AdAware, Spybot search and destroy and registry mechanic on my system, but nothing seems to help. I do not have Norton Internet Security. I was having trouble reinstalling it from CD.

Dear experts,
I am having some trouble finding my printer in Windows XP Pro. I was having some trouble with spyware but I think that it is now fixed. Not sure though. I try the device manager and looking to see what hardware is listed, and it says that the device is functioning properly. I can't seem to find it. I also don't know where my printer CD is so I am stuck. I hope someone can help.

Thanks but the System restore was not able to open. I went to Start/Programs/Accessories/system tools/system restore, but no go. I was able to open a couple exe files, after I did something, but I was not able to remember what I did to fix it temporarily. I think I was playing around in Folder Options. I still have the same problem as I did before. I hope the experts can help. Thanks

Hi,
I'm hoping an expert can help me. I have windows XP pro and have not been able to load any new programs or software onto my system. I can open files like documents and pdf files, but can't open .exe files for some reason. I encountered problems with Norton Internet Security and had to uninstall it for my sytem and browser (Mozilla Firefox) to work again. I had Ad Aware then was finding bugs. Tried uninstalling it with Ad Remove Prgrams but it won't budge. Trying to download another copy but it is an .exe file. I much prefer zip files now, having the problem. Please help me.

Oct Wed 20th 2004 connection was refused error SOLVED
I was having an error message every time I tried logging into MSN hotmail and secure Yahoo mail. The error was always, "connection was refused when attempting to contact...." .I have Mozilla Firefox and Windows XP. The problem is related to Norton Internet Security. I was having an error message with NIS too at the start up and could not figure out why. I concluded that the problems with "connection was refused" error message were related. I unistalled NIS through the start menu, in the uninstall option, and the error message resolved themselves. I then re-installed Norton Internet Security from the CD. I hope this helps some of you as I have been trying to solve this problem for 2 months or so. Inspiration hit me, and the problems went away after a few minutes.

"unable to log on to Hotmail. Message says "Connection was refused when attempting to contact login.passport.com. Also when doing transactions on the internet the page comes "Cannot find server". It takes me up to that point and then the error message appears.Does anyone know what the problem might be and how to fix it? i am able to access Hotmail from other computers, but not mine. I have Firefox downloaded and installed, plus Spysweeper also installed. Is this causing the connection problem? I have Windows XP."

I have the exact same error message pop up too. I have been calling MSN for the last two days with no resolution. I can't access my hotmail/msn email account. I too had Firefox, and Windows XP. It was working fine before, then all of a sudden it stopped. It was fairly recent that I loaded and installed Mozilla Firefox on my computer. Was this the source of the problem? I am hoping someone may be able to help me, and the person above me.

Doesn't anyone have any clue to help solve this problem? I haven't been able to sign in to hotmail for weeks now. I think it is a JAVA problem, but I'm not sure. My old computer works. Is it because I have Mozilla Firefox? I need your help.
