The orginal problem was that the computer would shut down whenever a cd (software) was inserted into the CD-ROM. The system was wiped, 2000 reinstalled, updates, MS Office, Word Perfect, Onstream (back-up) and then NAV 05 with updates and a scan. A CD was inserted, and it rebooted. It almost …

Wow..2 in one day. Windows 2000...everything functions normally. The CD-Rom is hardly used. The other day a cd was inserted and the system restarted. It happens everytime the CD-Rom is in use. No viruses, spyware, etc. Tried a new CD-Rom..same thing. However! When the computer is in safe mode...it works! …

:!: Ok....Windows XP SP2 ....when you try to open a folder it immediately goes to the search for files window. It doesn't matter how you go about it...same result. What could cause it and how do you fix it?

Help! Tried loading Windows XP on Dell Dimension 4400. Loaded first time fine, did updates, and other software. System crashed. Boot up on recovering CD gave this error: ntfs.sys - address f96c33411. Unable to get to recovery console or windows setup screen. Tested the hard drive and it passed. :confused:
