does anything work? because toshiba laptops have problems with power going to the hard drive. You should see a boot screen then the comp just dies. if thats the prblem, your gonn ahave to see a comp tech because i couldnt fix mine

im using a toshiba R/10, to get to your cd tray you have to change the bios by pressing esc f1 or f3. to just boot from dvd press f8-f12 repadely as soon as the computer starts.

just try to reofmatt your disk and then restart. then install windows without reformatting the disk. The cd may be scratched, make sure its clean. if its damaged, dont buy a new one. there are some great simple tutorials on how to repair cd's. check out [url]www.pass-pirates.net[/url] in their tutorials
