As a researcher you would find papers, web articles and more. But if I take your prior question at https://www.daniweb.com/programming/software-development/threads/508276/what-is-the-scope-of-advanced-embedded-system into the view I have to wonder where you are in your schooling.

Tell me a little more so I can give you a better direction. I'm just someone that happens to have designed, worked on single board systesm as well as system on chip and a few works on Android.

I'm ready when you ask a more specific question.

Android is NOT an RTOS. It is Linux with some RT extensions, but is is not hard real time. The QNX OS (used on some Blackberry phones) is a hard RTOS. You can make sure that certain operations and interrupt handlers will meet hard deadlines in terms of system response.
