tx a lot,i was reading what u sent to me.But let me tell u exactlly what i want to do. I am doing a mentenance scedule for some machinaries with VB.I want the timer to remind me the next scedule as per the cycle,it might be after 3 months or more,this varies according to the type of maintenance it is going to do. So How can i make the time interval as i want?, and How make the counter counts while the excutable file is closed?

how about adding a column to your database where you add the reminder date for each machinery.
Then everytime you load your project, make your project check for reminder dates that are equal to todays date
