I am a seasoned PHP/Postgres/AJAX developer and would like to get back into ASP.NET development which I haven't touched since I graduated in 05(v1.1). Everywhere I look I find tutorials that include GUIs and wizards and that is not really the way I like to do things.

I don't need tutorials in C# as I already understand the concepts of programming in OOP, I am looking for an up to date ASP.NET framework and general ASP.NET tutorial that will explain it from a "how it works" point of view. Could you give me some direction?

try apress books, beginning asp.net 2.0 from novice to professional and then pro asp.net in c# , these two are very helpful books. And try asp.net data access tutorials in www.asp.net
