I am not a Joomla advocate, but first I hope you have downloaded it free from its home site @ http://www.joomla.org/ and also visit the extensions section to enhance th website you will build: http://extensions.joomla.org
Read the installation guidelines very very carefully and get your hosting right and then start doing your website. In case you need a template please do not hesitate to let me know, I can share out one with you anytime.
