This is my 1st post on this Forum - Hello My Name is Michael and I'm from Poland :) I have a question about security in Internet. I'm active user of Internet and I have now some anxiety, maybe unjustified, but I have :( I'm logged in webbrowser on my Google (Gmail) account (sometimes Facebook) and in this time I use other websites: This is my Question: Is my activity on these websites (and names of these websites) saving somewhere on servers: google, facebook or others servers information about me? It worries me if in the future someone will be …

I am new in this forum. I have joined this Forum so that I could share my thoughts regarding virus removal or fixing threat. I found this forum quite interesting and hence I joined this forum. The site users are sharing good information; even I would like to share a bit from my knowledge. I am basically from New York, but I need to travel at several places for my business purpose and I also suffer from lots of virus problems in my Laptop. So I can possibly suggest some rescues to other users who suffer from same issues.

Hello Community, I have recently been experiencing extream speed decrees in my internet and general laptop use. I try to load eg. this website to post this and it took just under a minute to fully load. Sometimes for somereason my laptop mouse will freeze up, it will let me use the mouse buttons but will refuse to move, once this happends I need to wait close to 3 minutes (while leaving it alone), also when I attempt to scroll, instead of scrolling, the mouse just moves in the direction I'm wanting to scroll. I have ran a full virus …

Hi, Malware Bytes has stopped scanning. I had bought the full professional, and it stopped scanning files on request (from the pop-up menu when you right-click on files). I then realised it wouldn't update, and reinstalls have failed. The other virus software I use is simply Windows Defender. I'm running Windows 8.1 on a Lenovo Y480. I performed the "Read me Before" tasks, and AFT-Cleaner and GMER failed, and Windows Malicious Software Removal tool found nothing on a quick scan. Currently running a deep scan. DDS.scr says it "Will not run in compatibility mode" and closes. So, I basically haven't …

I have been turning my USB thumb drives into fully encrypted data containers for years now, but readily admit that the prospect of rolling up your sleeves and getting down and dirty with encryption software is not as exciting to everyone as it is to me. However, with removable USB data storage devices having hit the pricing point where they have well and truly become commoditized and the data stored upon them of increasing value to those who would cause you financial injury, it really isn't safe to carry data around unencrypted; so what to do if DIY encryption isn't …

Just as your average Joe starts to 'get' the importance of online security, and that means using anti-virus software, so the bad guys start exploiting this new found understanding by flooding the Internet with fake AV products. Security researchers at SophosLabs have today identified a major new fake anti-virus software campaign which is threatening to flood the Internet with malicious security products. The widespread spam campaign is designed purely with one goal: to get the unwary recipient to open HTML files attached to the messages which then redirect web browsers to hacked sites that come complete with a malicious iFrame …

My computer has been severely hacked. Well 2 laptops actually. And it looks like my router also. Problems noted here: 1. Email accounts routinely hacked even after changing passwords and using keypass in the securist way. Suspected keyloggin occuring somewhere in the stream. 2. Something causing my typing to be highlighted and changed into other words and characters, not randomly but as in remote access type of thing. Suspected rootkit worm virus (I'm only above novice in this stuff). 3. Internet modifications occuring where webpages are rendered with intelligent inaccuracies, suspected DNS redirection and spoofing. If not virus worm etc. …

I am trying to understand the different types of protection that a computer needs. This is what I have learned: -You cannot have multiple anti-virus software on your computer, because they will interfere with each other -You need to stack up other anti-malware software, the more the better -You can not have two firewalls on one computer, but you can have a firewall on a computer, then a firewall on the server that the computer is a part of. But if anti-virus is a type of malware, why is it that you can stack the other types- but not virus …

I want that the clean button should do the following job. read the file (B) signature and compare it with signature guide(A), if the file (B) signature is different from signature file (A) then repair the file changing its signature just like its present in signature guide.. Hi!! I would like to know if I could get someone's help. My computer, which is connected to an internal web, had a detected security risk, so Symantec Antivirus was installed to make a clean-up. Nevertheless, after the installation, a couple of messages appear every time I initiate the computer, saying that there's a failure with "C:DOCUME~1userLOCALS~1applic~1micros~2winini~1.exe" specified in the registry. Also, even after the antivirus update and scannings, there is a message that appears 2-3 times per minute over the Symantec Endpoint Protection in the Desktop Bar, indication, saying "[SID:24142] System Infected: Trojan Download Request detected" [] . Nothing happens …

I'm a beginner (High school student) in Computer Science (Information Technology) and I've realized there's a lot of trojan horse on the computer at school, so I'm forced to take my laptop -.- However I was on the search for Anti-viruses it then made it clear to me that the internet is not completely safe. While doing research I've found Bit-defender, it's the best and has a high ranking too, but it also takes a lot out of your processor so I figured AVG would do the trick, well it didn't protect me 100% but it is a good anti-virus …

Think about an antivirus software with an 1-pc license. After installation , while the user tries to upgrade it, the software recognizes that the pc rying to upgrade the antivirus is the one that bought the license so that the software when installed on another pc with the same serial key given won't work or be upgraded. Is assembly language or what used to develop this licensing system ? What has DRM to do with it and in what way? N.B: If this is not the right forum to ask the question, then correct me please.

Hi basically what happens this computer is when i turn it on, it loads to the windows 7 loading page (when the colours come togeather) and then it just randomly turns off. No hardware or software changes have been made and its not a virus because ive already scanned. so then i launch startup repair and it suggests doing a system restore but i said no and the pc restarted and it works now. This is the 2nd time this has happened. But no doubt this will happen tomorrow. It seems as if there might be dust iin the back …

a software written in python to change the extension of all existing exe files on a system to a randomly generated integer would prevent a conventional virus as knowing the file is an executable and hence from infecting it. i know there are easy ways of getting around this. so this method cant be widespread. but would it work on 1 machine ? one could write a program to run these exe files with integer extensions quite simply

The likes of Norton these days make much fuss about just how quick installing a security suite is, but you can forget all claims of being done in 60 seconds when it comes to Trend Micro Titanium Maximum Security. Think less of speedy rocket-powered installations and more of slow and steady, with a certain degree of swimming through treacle wearing flippers thrown in. Having checked for any conflicting software (such as Norton) or even traces of such software left behind by other security suite uninstallation routines (hello Norton again) and then removing them, the Trend installer goes and fetches the …

Intel announced on Thursday their agreement to purchase all of McAfee’s common stocks at $48 a share, a deal approximately worth $7.68 billion. McAfee will act as a wholly-owned subsidiary and report to Intel’s Software and Services Group. The endeavor marks what is sure to be a harmonious relationship for two of the world’s leading hardware and software companies at a time when mobile markets are booming, a sector which remains untapped from a securities standpoint. "Our view is that everywhere we sell a microprocessor, there is an opportunity to sell security software with it," said Paul Otellini, Intel president …
