This is puzzling. We have a small organization running our own Exchange 2003 server for about 25 users. We hired a new employee recently, and I created a new user in Active Directory by copying an existing account, same as I have done for over 10 years. That all went fine, including creating the mailbox. However, setting up a profile on a Windows 10 Pro PC running Outlook 2010 does not allow full email functionality. The new user can send and recieve in-house emails, can send emails to external addresses, but cannot recieve mail from any external addresses. All other …

Hi, I am trying to disable a forwarder in a mailbox under exchange server 2010 on server 2008 R2 x64 on Hyper-V. When I try to remove the forwarded email in the mailbox and click on apply or OK, I receive error which says, "you must provide a value to this property". I am getting same error in cmdlet commands. When I try to collect organizational health, I get same error in last third phase. If I try to remove mailbox, disable it or even I try to create new mailbox, I get the same error msgs says provide value …

We have an important business contact in China whom we have communicated with by email for years. As of the past few weeks, we cannot send an email to this business successfully. We get the message delayed and then subsequent failed to deliver 4.4.7 message. We are running exchange 2003, and can email anyone else without issue, including other contacts in foreign countries. Also, we can email the important Chinese contact with a gmail account, just not through our corporate exchange. My conclusion is that "we can email everyone else with no problem from Exchange" and "gmail gets through" = …

Hi Everyone, Wanted to share a bit on this subject as I've had to recently make some of these changes. Along my way I found a few sites that basically suggested moving all mailboxes off the database, dismount, delete and create a new database. Simple enough, however I didn't want to do this. As you may or may not know, by default Exchange installs the database at the following location: C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V14\Mailbox\Database1\Database1.edb Log files would go: C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V14\Mailbox\Database1 What if you wanted to change the location or name of those files? Well thankfully this is super easy with …

I'm running Exchange 2003 in my company; every 2 days it seems I get a call from a user stating a message is stuck in their outbox or they are not getting new mail. In all cases, restarting the information store and MTA stacks immediately clears the problem and gets mail coming and going again, for about another 2 days. Initially I thought maybe the exchange database was getting too large; we run a journal mailbox. I archived this out, and it still did it to me today. What needs to be done to correct this recurring issue? It has …

Hey guys, The company I work for is going through a Cross Forest Exchange (both Exch 2010) and AD migration (2003 to 2008 R2). Some users in the TARGET domain were receiving NDRs (Non Delivery Report) in Outlook when responding to old emails from users still located in the SOURCE domain, or when using the N2K cached addresses for those same SOURCE users. This was only happening with 2 scenarios: 1. There was no **mailbox user** or **contact** in the TARGET exchange organization for that recipient. 2. There was a contact for that recipient in the TARGET exchange organization, however …

Can you tell me if you think Link Exchanges have any marketing or SEO benefit? Or does free Link Exchange risk being swatted by Google for Link manipulation? I've received a few invitations to exchange links with websites with higher rank than me, but have turned them down because it feels like link manipulation to me. Am I wrong? What is Google's view on this practice? When I go to these sites to check them out, they often have long lists of 'Websites We Like' (or similar title) in their sidebars. How can doing this possibly benefit anything or anyone? …

Hey guys...having some serious trouble with configuring Exchange Server 2013 on Server 2012 for sending and receiving emails to and from the internet. Sending and receiving internally works great. However, Comcast blocks port 25 and running the MX record check over at DNSstuff.com reports that the MX record points to the mail server at the correct public IP address, but it cannot establish any SMTP connections. Trying to reconfigure my send and receive connectors EMC Powershell have failed using ports 587 and 465. Is there anyway that I can still use my .com domain and circumvent the blocked port? I …

I have 326 email addresses that I would like to add to a distribution group. Basically, from Outlook, I want to type the name of the group, say "research", and have my message automatically go out to all 326 e-mail addresses. I also need it to be blind, meaningch recipient does not see everyone else's address. How do I set this up in Exchange / Active Directory? I know the basics. What are the absolute limits of # of recipients in exchange 2003 for a distribution list? Thanks

Good morning! We are currently in the process of moving e-mail providers and moving to an Exchange server housed at our data center. What we were told to do was to create the Exchange account in Outlook so that we would have two profiles - the 'old' profile and the new Exchange profile - and simply drag-and-drop the e-mails, subfolders, calendars, etc. from the old profile to the Exchange profile. This seems to work for the calendar, contacts, and even most subfolders. But when I try to move e-mails from the old Inbox over to the Exchange Inbox, the e-mails …

We are implementing a reporting system (.net 4.0, c#) that contains all the sender/recipient/timestamp information for all the emails for all the users. We have the requirement that this application should be able to communicate with Exchange 2007 SP1 and Exchange 2010 servers, thus, using the Exchange Web Service Managed API sounds like the technology that we need. I can create subscriptions on Inbox/Sent items folders for event types "Created" and "New mail". The problem is in case of some incoming emails when a user is using some rule that e.g. moves the message directly to some other folder or …

I was planning on writing code that would get stock data from the exchange and store it for use and analysis later. I'm new to programming and Python so I don't really know where to get started. Are there functions, modules, or techniques I should be aware of? So far I'm only familiar with conditional programming, defining functions/objects, recursive loops, working with strings, reading from and writing to text files, etc. Just the basics really. What else would I have to learn to get started on a project like this? All help is appreciated. Thanks! -- ThisIsNotAnId.

My antivirus scanner found a few viruses with on our exchange server. The files had a .eml extension and they were located in the " \Progam Files\Exchsrvr\Mailroot\vsi2\UceArchive" folder. I assume they are emails, but what is this folder for and why are there 2GB of .eml files in it?

Hi guys, I want to run the following in a c# loop but I just don't know how to pass a multi value for a parameter with a comma. The actual cmdlet would be below and does work in exchange powershell: Set-CalendarProcessing –ResourceDelegates jonDoe@test.com,johnnydoe@test.com -identity testroom@test.com –AutomateProcessing AutoUpdate I know my code connection works but it's the "–ResourceDelegates jonDoe@test.com,johnnydoe@test.com" I don't know how to pass, shown below: Sample part of the code is here:
command.AddCommand("Set-CalendarProcessing"); command.AddParameter("-ResourceDelegates", "userA@test.com,userB@test.com"); command.AddParameter("-Identity", "test@test.com"); command.AddParameter("-AutomateProcessing", "AutoUpdate");
Thanks Steve

If I've already got Postini what value add would installing GroupShield for Exchange provide??? More specifically internal emails within the co. (10K employees) are not scanned but all nodes on the network should have McAfee VSE On-Access Scanning enabled and current (about 95% compliant). So if a threat attempted to propogate wouldn't OAS on the individual machines catch it? Why have emails scanned on exchange? It seems duplicitous... Any thoughts would be welcome! Thanks, cupa

If it is blank (and later I would like to check if it is all uppercase) i copied the Microsoft.Exchange.Data.Transport.dll and Microsoft.Exchange.Data.Common.dll from the exchange server, and referenced them into a new c# class library. the code i have is as follows:
using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Linq; using System.Text; using System.Diagnostics; using Microsoft.Exchange.Data.Transport; using Microsoft.Exchange.Data.Transport.Email; using Microsoft.Exchange.Data.Transport.Smtp; using Microsoft.Exchange.Data.Transport.Routing; using Microsoft.Exchange.Data.Common; namespace ExchangeTransportAgent { public class RoutingFactory : RoutingAgentFactory { public override RoutingAgent CreateAgent(SmtpServer server) { RoutingAgent myAgent = …
