Hey guys. So my dad and brother are on the same internet as me, as I am home from college for the summer. The only problem I have is that when I load a game, my ping is EXTREMELY high. As in unplayable high. My brother and dad don't have any ping problems at all. I believe this is a virus because my computer has been running extremely slow recently and I haven't been able to figure out why. Any help?

The game starts off by distributing 4 cards for the deck such a way that the player receives the card first, then the dealer..and so on. round 1. the program will display the first two cards of the player and dealer the first card of the dealer faced down and dealer and compare player's and dealer's second card. if the dealer second card > player second card. the dealer will make a random bet. if the player second card > dealer second card. the player will decide a bet. move on to round 2. round 2. the program will display …

I have a dice and chips game that I devised I would like to create for the iPad. The only programming experience I have is with my TRS 80 over 25 years ago using basic. I need to create the play field with dice and chips and be able to show the movement of the chips. Once that is complete I need to be able to produce an artificial intelligence routine to play against human player. The algorithm for this part will be the most interesting I believe. How should I start at this? I'm not really interested in becoming …

Hello Guys Well I'm working on a lottery game and I would like to ask something because I don't know how to test the sequence of numbers before to print out!! All I need is to check the series of numbers in the arrays before the program prints out a random number if the number is the same then the program will make another randomization series, Examples int BOARD_2012_M7_K09[5] = {1,4,6,10,41}; If the random numbers are 1,4,6,10,41 (in different sequence also 41,10,4,6,1) Then the program will make a new random sequence !! With other words I missing the checking part …

I made the famous game Scissors, Paper, Rock as console application. The game runs great ... Now I want to make it a bit more advanced and allow 2 clients/users to play against each other from different locations. I checked few tutorials on sockets and networking, and in them they have a field "for multiple client" and when I check that part the pseudo code just shows new thread for each client. For my game with 2 clients, do I need to use that? Also, should I put the game code on the server and only ask the user for …

It's not really a problem that I am facing, more like looking for explanation ... I had this import java.util.*; import java.io.*; public class ReadFile { private static int lines=0; private static List<String> words=new ArrayList<String>(); private static String fullLine; private static int indexOfSpace; private static String getWord; private static String getHint; public static void main(String[] args) { File file = new File("C:\\Users\\User\\eclipse\\readFileAllLines\\words.txt"); //Windows path try { Scanner scanner = new Scanner(file); while (scanner.hasNextLine()) { String line = scanner.nextLine(); System.out.println(line+" "+lines); words.add(lines,line); lines++; } scanner.close(); } catch (FileNotFoundException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } fullLine = words.get(0); indexOfSpace = fullLine.indexOf(" "); System.out.println(indexOfSpace); getWord …

A few days ago, i made a hangman game and I really want to complete it in any aspect. One of my ideas now is to "import" words from a file. Currently what I have is an Array of Strings (just a few words inside for testing) and what I want is a file containing those 2: `Word` `Hint` word1 Hint1 with spaces word2 Hint2 with spaces What I am wondering now is can I import the file and all its context into an array maybe? and then when the game starts use regular expressions such as randomly take a …

Hi, My friend is thinking of creating a game in which you hack into a fake safe/vault "A" and once you are in that "safe" you write code/create a firewall to stop the next person getting into that safe behind you (i.e. into safe "A") and then you work on getting into the next safe "B". He asked my advice on how difficult it would be for someone with a good coding knowledge to "hack" into the software of a safe (in game terms) and create a firewall behind them. I know it would proably depend on the level of …

Ok so the last couple of days i have been atempting to make a voxel engine for a cube world, i am intermediate in c++ and beyond the basics in opengl, i have a basic thought as to how the engine will fucnction. the Engine: - programmed in c++ - uses win32 api for a window with various enhancements (like a fps limiter made from a in house timer, etc.) - uses opengl libraries (GL.h, GLU.h, glew.h, and glm.hpp) - uses a vbo to make blocks and chunks - implements face culling on blocks and chunks - impements 3d picking …

How can I keep track of the unguessed letters yet in my JTextArea? In the non gui version I used an arraylist, worked fine but should I leave the arraylist and use it to track unguessed caracters ? The method is still console based, just started implementing the gui made the layout now connecting it. What I did so far was append the number of letters that the chosen word contains public void guessWord(){ for (int i = 0; i<wordToGuess.length();i++){ //create all letters represented by "_" al.add(i," _ "); } //System.out.println(al); for(String s: al){ wordToGuessGUI.append(s); } Scanner sc = new …

First am I missing any other notable ones? I only want to know about crossplatform standalone source-based modules, so no Gui IDEs. Tkinter Pyjamas wxPython PyGObject (Gtk's successor) Qt I already know that `Tkinter` is the default so it is the obvious choice for crossplatform because of its licensing and availability, with the obvious exception of Apple. And `Pyjamas` is for web apps, although `Grail` did it first. But which one is has the best speed for performance-wise efficiency? And what about speed as in Rapid Application Developments? And ease of use? And most feature rich and powerful? Which would …
